Has anyone else been as frustrated as me at Chaperone quest?

Don't get me wrong, I love this game more than words can express. I have over 1300 hours invested and ain't going anywhere. But yesterday I started my final quest before Rise of Iron launches - the Jolly Holliday quest. Three games in and I have been doing decent. Got the quest percentage up to 52% and pretty happy at how quickly this is going. Then I had two very bad games ... as we all do. But I shrugged and knew it would be better next game. Then I checked my quest tracker .... for whatever reason my progress was erased and I was back down to 22% ... I am sorry, but that is just wrong. I says nowhere on the quest that deaths count against you. I mean, not that one would try to die anyways, but still. I was floored to learn that this was left out of the quest and somehow feel extremely cheated by Bungie. I can't help but feel like just abandoning the quest even though it's a gun I really want because let's face it ... XUR will be selling it as a legacy engram NEXT September. LOL Does anyone have any advice, pointers, or just wanna share their frustration with me? To know I'm not alone would make all the difference. My PSN is Jeremiah_VA88 should anyone want to help or play together. I am sorry to rant or seem like I am complaining, but I don't let much bother me in this game and grinding for everything doesn't phase me one bit .. but parameters being left out of a quest that negatively impact you is just dirty on Bungie's end. EDIT: Thanks to everyone for the tips, stories and suggestions. As of last night, I am currently on the "Bide Your Time" step, which is the final step as all I have to do now is wait until the weekly reset next week. I am beyond excited to play with this weapon!!

What concerns me about this quest is that, if my understanding of the rules is correct, that you can pull an even K/D and still lose ground. My understanding is that it's this: Last Word Kill: 1 point Last Word headshot: 2 points Non Last Word Kill: Nothing Kill streak: Unspecified number of points Match victory: 3 points Death: Lose 2 points So say you get 15 kills and 11 deaths. Say you get 6 TLW kills, half headshots. 9 points. Assume, say four shottie kills, two heavy kills, a grenade, and two with your super. 0 points. Assume 1 point for a two-kill streak. Assume four two-kill streaks. We'll say that's one point each (might be zero, doubt it';s more). 4 points. 11 deaths. Lose 22 points. Kill/Death ratio: 1.364 9 points lost. To put it another way, this quest can only be achieved by people who are either very good in the Crucible... or else very lucky. If that was Bungie's intent, to create a gun that only a few high-end Crucible players can get, they have succeeded admirably. I know that it's possible to switch guns at the last minute 34 times when you're winning. And there are other ways to do it as well: exploit Supers and heavy, fool the SBMM software by deliberately losing, there might even be people who do carries in this quest. It's just unfortunate that we have to.
