Was reading my Intro to C Book for college (programming stuff blah blah blah) and lo and behold I come across an interesting name. French mathematician and philosopher George Boole. The book goes into detail about Boolean type, which can represent only two values: true or false.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the gun Boolean Gemini has two exotic perk options, "One Way" and "Or Another." That is very similar to the Boolean type's two values, true or false. One Way, Or Another.
Just thought I'd share this little tidbit of knowledge with you all. And respect to Bungie for always finding a way to amaze me with the thought process on gear design and naming. Keep up the good work. 👍
Edit: Apparently I'm slow to point this out. People already knew . . . *cries over never making the connection*
Edit 2: Some people seem keen on saying, "Whhuuu bro!?!? You're taking programming in college and never heard of this?!?! You're dumb!!!! XD Lol."
No, I'm not. I just have never been exposed to this information before (I blame public schools for not providing info, exposing, or even teaching this subject even though it runs our whole world.) It's something I've always wanted to learn though, and I'm enjoying it.
Just, keep the comments a little clean. I'll live my life how I want to. You enjoy yours. 👈😎

Hmmm...i always thought it was a tribute to the blondie song...

3 RepliesHate to break it to you, but
Boolean logic was a thing long before computers. Those of us whose education predates computers learned about in math and EE classes. While walking to school uphill in the snow, of course.
Nice 👍🏼

Good work sir.

1 ReplyYup, can confirm Took Boolean algebra in college.
-
George Boole would have a meltdown if he heard of quantum computing.
-
4 RepliesOld guy gamer here, and I like it when folks take the time to point this stuff out. Seriously man - for every dipshit responding with a "duh," there's someone out there who learned something about something. So, rock on with that.
-
We need more people like this in the community tbh. 😉

*Facepalm* How I managed to not notice this?
probably because I always refered to it as 347 dynasty instead of boolean gemini
News to me, good job collage boy
-
Thats dope. I know as a Gemini we are consider twins and have something like 2 personalities a week.

5 RepliesTrust me dude. 95% of the people saying "wohoo , you're late to the party we already knew" are jus lying. People cannot stand to be taught something new about their favorite game. So in conclusion they pretend to already know everything and try to put you down. Lol. It's quite interesting from a psychology standpoint. These people didn't know this. I promise you. You're just getting a taste of the toxicity the destiny forums have to offer.

That's cool

1 ReplyI never knew. Now I do. Thanks man!
-
2 RepliesDon't lose any sleep over the dumb comments. There's lots of background stuff that I don't know about the game and what you shared was new to me (and I'm 50) so thanks for sharing it. Too many know it alls about. Not everyone knows everything even if they act as though they do! Happy Gaming!

Very cool observation.

4 RepliesHahaha, nice :p at least you got it in the end :) Nobody gives Bungie enough credit for the intellect that goes into their weapons, a lot of their weapons have awesome meaning behind the names which are reflected in their flavour text or perks. Eyasluna is a favourite of mine. Eyas means a Baby Hawk, so 'Eyas-Luna' literally means 'Baby Hawk Moon'. And just like Eyasluna is a Hawkmoon wannabe, Imago Loop was also designed as a Fatebringer duplicate with imago meaning image, as in an idealised concept. An Imago is also an insect fresh from metamorphosis, like a molting cicada. So the flavour text of the Imago Loop is directly hinting at the Fatebringer being given new life. "…once-mighty wings, now dewy and fragile and new, as again the silken threads encased its... "

Vex Mythoclast and Imago Loop's flavor text are literally a loop.

1 ReplyI love the secret back stories to these weapons. Another example of it is the Fabian Strategy. Awful weapon yes but the thought process behind it and inspiration is fantastic. If you don't know I am on about, watch a video uploaded by TrueVanguard recently dedicated to Fabian Strategy. Bungie pls rework this weapon to make actually useful...

In my world as a database developer, a Boolean can have 3 values! 1,0 and null

Knew about boolean and such but congrats on putting it together man

4 RepliesI didn't know this, that's pretty cool lol I love finding stuff like this in games.
