There's elite in PvE, when u lead your team every raid, every strike, and every PoE you're elite. When you get to the strike boss first every time and know how to kill every boss within seconds you're elite. Whether it makes you a great gamer is debatable but within this game there is elite in both game modes.

Yeah, I don't go around calling myself "elite", but I fit your description. I've been called a natural leader and normally feel at home "directing traffic" during a raid. I call out stuff a lot - keeps everyone focused and aware of where we are/doing at any point. I figure the more information available (that's useful) for people, the better decisions everyone can make, thus resulting in fewer wipes/errors.

Thank you. These guys are not elite!!! Learning a predetermined pattern and following it isn't a hard thing to do after repetition. In pvp these guys play different people each time and continually win that's elite. Not the fact you master a pattern.

By getting to the boss first... you actually mean running past the parts of the strike that aren't encounters, right? That's pretty easy and nothing to brag about. I hate players like that. Relax and enjoy the strike. Kill all the enemies.

I'd definitely say there are elite pve players. The ones soloing oryx, two man oryx, solo crota hard y1, solo atheon(of course with the required amount of people for certain parts), soloing certain y1 nightfalls, etc. There are alot of really good players that can't or couldn't do these things. Pve elites and pvp elites are definitely complete different animals but to say there isn't such a thing isn't correct.

I was part of the group that Soloed every single nightfall, most of the time without relying on Warlock. I also soloed Crota in Year 1 and did Flawless Raider two man Crota. Those were the times lol.

I was able to do a few. Mostly with my warlock lol. But to say elite and pve doesn't belong in the same sentence is ridiculous.

For sure! Most people raiding on day 1 of a raid are Elite, especially the ones that complete it day 1. Also all the stuff you mentioned as well.

Beating the raid day one doesn't make you elite either.... actually aside from a trophy in real life it doesn't mean all that much. I mean do I remember any of the guys that finished any of the other raids? Not one. Do I care they had 6 to 10 hours to pour into the raid day one ? Not in the slightest. Now you want to talk pvp I can name you some players that are indeed elite. Not a group of people who've remember the patterns to the point they can do it by themselves or with 2 people or whatever the case. Pve players go watch pixels, we'll give you guys a call when we can't figure out the pattern.

Elite: "a select part of a group that is superior to the rest in terms of ability or qualities." According to this definition, there are elite PvE players. Stop blinding yourself to this. Could you solo a raid, could you solo a year 1 nightfall without sunsinger, could you achieve world record of Crota's End? Can you beat the raid day 1? According to this definition, there are Elite players for PvE, there are people better than the rest, smarter than the rest. And on your other point, does it matter that you can't name an Elite PvE player? There are a lot of elite players, and I'd have to call myself one back in Year 1, being better than the rest, and doing challenges solo when they were hard, playing smarter and better than everyone in raids, being the leader of the raid team constantly. I can't name a lot of Elite PvP players, does that mean they don't exist, of course they do you muppet!
