I don't think it should cost a charge, but it should either, A. Not be a 1-hit kill B. Make the user more vulnerable during charge.

  • How can you make a user more vulnerable than not being able to use anything else during charge time and having to get in melee range (easily killed with a shotgun or fusion rifle). Maybe you want them to glow like someone does in a super while charging at you? Or maybe put a marker on them visible to anyone a mile away? Ridiculous. Curious you don't talk about the 1 trick monkeys (hunters/warlocks) using blink+shotguns (yes shotguns, because a shotgun in your secondary slot isn't enough so might aswell run with a universal remote aswell for the ultimate no skill experience) for easy kills. I mean, suddenly vanishing from your sights and getting above you is far more disgusting than a titan charging at you, but that's totally fine. Shade stepping away from cover to cover or to shotgun you in the face is totally fine too. Pathetic.

  • Haha. I'm nowhere near a blink shotgunner and don't even use the UR. I use one shotty, the chaperone, and only on certain maps. Don't confuse me with the one trick ponies. The point of adjusting the SC isn't to kill it. when they took the stick away from tripmines, it hurt my gameplay badly but I have adjusted. Titans can do the same unless adjusting is just too hard. Some players use the SC as another kill method while others use it all of the time. That's annoying AF and a sign of scrubbery, IMO.

  • How do you make the user more vulnerable than making it impossible for them to shoot or use abilities while it's up, and giving a 2 second animation in third person that also prevents them from shooting.

  • SC doesn't prevent FOH and the animation is moot as the SC results in a kill. It's the only one hit kill in the game that doesn't cost the user anything other than a 2 second sprint. It's unbalanced, not OP. It should be a risk/reward ability, meaning, while charging, the user loses his over shield. There needs to be trade-off to balance it

  • Except it doesn't always. Believe it or not there are these things called guns you can shoot them with before they charge at you down a straight hallway, or better yet you can use this ting called radar and not go around a corner when you know that someone is on the other side, or you can do this brand new thing that exists in the game called jumping. If they aren't already in the air they can't hit you that way. Still no response on how the titan can't use weapons or any abilities besides foh, and really FOH does cancel out shoulder charge. FOH can be used after shoulder charging or when the shoulder charge visual cue is up(which should tell you quite clearly to run away or shoot at an oncoming titan), but I have no idea what you mean when you saying using it doesn't prevent FOH.

  • The prevent FOH was in response to your comment about how SC makes it impossible to use other abilities while active. It doesn't. You can FOH while it is active but who cares. It can be turned off by simply lifting up the analog. And yes, no need to be sarcastic about ways to stop an SC. I'm aware. Just becasue I can stop it, doesn't mean it isn't unbalanced. To my point down the thread, it needs to cost the user something. If not a melee charge, which is not likely since the skill tree would need to be revamped, then at the very least, it should cost the user his over shield.

  • Why? I can use a shotgun and keep my shield why can't I keep it using with an OHk melee instead.

  • Becasue it's a "free" kill perk, that's why. Everything else in the game costs something, whether it be a bullet, nade, melee charge, or super. The SC costs nothing and therefore can be used infinitely. That's the unbalance.

  • Uhhh except it isn't a free kill because it can be countered by what I said earlier. If you mean its the only OHK ability in game that's because strikers are the only class designed for cqc why else would they have Juggernaut and a nova bomb that only hits in areas around them.

  • Being able to counter it is irrelevant. SC carries a point value, kill+melee. It is infinite and exploitable as it does not cost anything to use. That is a design flaw that bungie has not addressed, yet. It will be changed in ROI, guaranteed. How they change it is the point of this debate.

  • Except it does have a cool down that everyone forgets about that I can elaborate on if you don't know what it is. Classes are all supposed to be different. Titans don't go complaining they don't get improved radar, so getting a very situational cqc melee that can ohk shouldn't be a problem.

  • I understand the slight cool down but again, irrelevant. Enhanced radar , blink, shadestep, do not equal a kill. They help gameplay and in the case of blink/shadestep, present combo opportunities. SC should act similar to those perks instead of being an added one-hit kill possibility. The only reason I bring this up is I am almost 100% certain many things are changing with ROI that we haven't been privileged to yet. The new relics are going to change the way perks behave. Infinite sprint + SC?!?! No way in hell this community is going to be ok with that and bungie knows it

  • Neither does shoulder charge guarantee a kill though. You said you are perfectly aware of counters on sc so it isn't the "infinite spam able ohk" that everyone claims it is if there are ways to stop it. You can spam it all you want but if you're playing against anyone with brains they'll shoot you dead before you get there. Sorry that I didn't make that point in my last post I forgot to. I'm not gonna argue about your future speculation because that's another can of worm entirely.

  • Cant tell you how many times ive dropped a SC titan with my sidearm only to still be killed by it... Times there is even a kill between us in the kill feed. In a game with as much lag and tailored ttk as destiny OHK is bad beans....

  • I don't like being killed by a racing Titan either, but the person who use the SC doesn't have a lot of kills at the end of the game and makes his/her team lost.

  • I wouldn't say you could easily kill them with a shotty. It's about 50-50. I really don't care about the SC when used in moderation. It's the scrubs who use it over and over and over again that annoy me. Use your guns every once in a while. It's kinda fun
