Part of the fun in destiny is using different guns in different situations. But if you want to use different kinds of guns, you need armor with specific ammo perks for each one.
Ammo perks should be simplified into the following (like it was in year 1):
* Carry more ammo for special weapons
* Carry more ammo for heavy weapons
* Carry more ammo for primary weapons
That's it. This would drastically reduce the amount of hoarding in the vault necessary and free up space for a lot of people.
As a contrast to this, right now we have ammo perks for each individual weapon (which is not necessary, encourages hoarding, and reduces available vault space) : Auto, Scout, Hand cannon, Pulse, Sidearm, Fusion, Shotgun, Sniper, Rocket, Machine gun. Its dumb. It means that if i have an armor piece that i think looks awesome, I have to collect a different version of it for each type of ammo perk i want :/.
Primary choice in armor should be based on looks and stats. We should not need duplicate copies of an armor piece to get a different ammo perks.
Similarly, reload perks should also be simplified. Only the following reload perks should exist :
* Primary weapon loader
* Special weapon loader
* Heavy weapon loader
Having an individual reload perk type for each gun type is dumb also.

If not done on legendary gear, at the very least, these generalizations should apply to all exotic gear that has ammo or reload perks. Exotic gear is exotic, and should allow us more flexibility without requiring multiple copies of it.

The difficulty is also compounded by having subclass dependent perks and wanting different stat boost combos for different subclasses. Start multiplying the types of guns by the number of subclasses by the number of stat boost combos, and you have a lot of armor pieces. That's the best part of Radiant Dance Machines: I can select any subclass I like.

8 RepliesThanks for posting the suggestion. It would certainly simplify things. I will pass it along to the devs to consider in the future.
-
1 ReplyThey got exotic that do that for year 2 already.

1 ReplyIf people don't care, why did they come here then?

1 ReplyThis sounds great because I am unable to play since I will not get gear cause I'm a major hoarder and there is absolutely no room for new gear for me
-
5 RepliesIt would be nice if the ammo perks actually worked. If I wear more rocket ammo boots, I get the same amount of ammo if I don't in pvp. If I wear "heavy ammo" chest piece, I get 1 more rocket than the boots. It makes no sense.

Edited by Talia Sendua: 9/1/2016 7:33:09 PMWould a Perk for "more Primary Ammo" available... NLB and UR would dominate everything! So, no... This Game Need this playful draft, the Skillsystem from Classes and Weapons/Armor is easy enough! Be happy, that we have now switchable Ammo perks on Chestplate and Boots... In Year One we have only the posssiblity for ONE Ammo Perk on Chestplates and Boots.
* Carry more ammo for special weapons * Carry more ammo for heavy weapons * Carry more ammo for primary weapons
Special Perk in Y1... Check Heavy Perk in Y1... Check Primary Perk in Y1... Nope...never seen!
What comes next? ONLY ONE WEAPON IN THE GAME?!?!?
2 RepliesU know no one is gonna grab the carry more primary xD. I doubt they will bring this back at all. They do got some on exotic gear chest pieces.

Edited by OpiumUnparalleld: 9/1/2016 9:07:31 AMI have 4sets of young ahamkaras spine gauntlets for my hunter. All depending what primary I'm going to use.Especially hand cannon reload,most needed then any other primary! Some times u have to change primary because of opponents or situations. If it was just primary reload, I wouldnt be such a -blam!-ing hoarder!

Agreed great post and thank you for sharing! I'd be fine with them going back to halo where you picked a specific class with specific weapons. No need for nerfs or buffs and dedicated servers? Yes I remember the good ol days :/
-
4 RepliesWhy does it need to go back? I have about 7 pieces for each slot that cover the guns I use. Same for loading. I dont often need extra ammo, the base amount is enough unless I'm using a hand cannon or trying to take down an ultra with an Arminius-d. Sniper ammo lasts long enough to make it through the dps phase Ina raid, and heavy ammo is easy.... Synth.... People are just to damn clingy. Why do you need one for every gun? You dont even use every gun. Unless it's a gimmick you probably use one or two differnt primary guns and either a shotgun or sniper special.

Welcome to Year 1 and Vanilla Destiny. That's why I keep saying, the old days were the good days.
-
I feel the loader perks don't need to be simplified but the ammo perks do need to be simplified imo
-
Bump, definitely needs to go back to how it was.
-
Bump. Great idea!!
-
Yes I agree I got alot of the same armor piece but the ammo perks are different like Why would I keep two armor piece that have the same stats but with different ammo perks to it? but one handcannon ammo and sniper and the other handcannon and sidearm ammo. Plus it goes the same for arms that have reloader perks and elemental defense.
-
Edited by SiniSterACE N7: 8/31/2016 2:37:02 PMI bump this to the max. That why our vault is full. Same type of armor but with different perk set.
-
Our vault get instantly full because of this one type of ammo perk like pulse rifle/sniper or pulse/fusion rifle.
-
THANK YOU for bringing this up.
-
2 RepliesI hoard armor for looks nor perks
-
this is pretty much how armor was in y1....
-
It's always a bad sign when 80% - 90% of players want something. It's like reassurance to Bungie they made the right choice when nobody likes it.
-
Plz I want this so bad

2 RepliesDid u just watch RickKhakis? He just put out a video on this subject.
