What does that even mean ?.
I consider myself part of it as are all of my fellow guardians but how much influence do you or I actually have ?.
I read posts or things from Bungie saying they listened to what "we" said and acted on it but, did they really ?.
I get the impression that, to Bungie, community means a select group of Twitch streamers and Youtubers. I am sure that if Gothalion, Broman, Ms 5000 Watts etc have something to say then that's taken with far more authority than anything a thousand of us might ask for. Or am I being too cynical here ?.
It's the streamers and tubers who Bungie see as promoting the product (and who get gifts from Bungie for doing so) but we don't all have the time to stream, make videos etc, we aren't all in relationships with Bungie staff or can't drop everything to go to a Bungie event...
So our influence is lessened and we find "our" views represented by the chosen few.
I'm sure it's the same in other games as well ...
But as a community who each paid to play, do we really have a voice ?
Thoughts ?

1 ReplyHere's how accepting community input works in real life, from someone who's done it: 1. Solicit community input. This can be done in lots of ways, both active and passive, from reading comment cards to hosting town halls. 2. Vet the suggestions with experts. Just because someone (or lots of someones) wants something doesn't make it either feasible or a good idea. 3. Find common themes, even among the bad ideas. Sometimes there will be a way to implement an improvement that hits at the theme even if the specific suggestion is unworkable. 4. Figure out what time, budget, and resources allow. Keep a clear focus on the organizational goals/strategic plan/creative vision; only those things that achieve goals are worth expending resources for. 5. Implement or begin planning implementation. 6. Let the community know you're acting on their suggestions. 7. Sometimes it's a good idea to explain why popular ideas aren't feasible. Sometimes it isn't. What you can never, ever, do is implement things willy-nilly just because they're popular. That's stupid, and an abdication of responsibility. It will also ruin the business in most cases. Bungie's actually doing a pretty good job across the board, even though I don't like all of the changes they've made.

No they do what they want, sometimes that coincides with community wishes.

4 RepliesThey hear us, they don't listen, we don't get listened to, we make so much noise, they can't help but to hear us... Doesn't mean they should do what any of us are screaming...

1 ReplyWell considering they made no comment in the weekly news about Xbox users not getting the exclusives..
I have my doubts
They are half deaf, that's for sure with all the bad decisions they made to destiny.

We've been asking for almost a year to remove sbmm. It has been toned down but having any type of sbmm will only make problems. In short no bungie doesn't listen to the majority of us.

2 RepliesThey listen to the complainers as long as it is an easy fix, will not fix the firefly issue.

2 RepliesI don't think a streamer has suggested something that wasn't something many people wanted and then it happened. For example, streamers wanted private matches, but so did a good portion of the community.
