Activision knows that most people would hate on Bungie for this.

Activision used to make video games. Now they just appropriate failing video game companies. I think their philosophy is: "If we own all the video game companies, then it won't matter how shitty our games are."

They've already acquired bungie, this is the exact same thing they did with Infinity Ward when the 1st Call of Duty came out, then after they had control, they fired the 2 founders of IW, (who are currently Respawn Entertainment, ala Titanfall). Remember this also, back then, when CoD was so popular, it was the only major competition (pvp wise) bungie had at the time while they were doing the early Halo's. Yeah Activision set their sights on bungie way back, and now this is what we have. This isn't the bungie of Marathon & Halo, it's just a division of Activision now, just like Infinity Ward became.
