But according to a new report published on Monday in The New Atlantis study—and utter common sense—transgenderism has zero grounding in science. Former Chief of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University Dr. Paul R. McHugh and Arizona State University professor of statistics and biostatistics Lawrence S. Mayer co-authored the report, which found that "gender identity" is not removed from biological sex. In other words, a man cannot be born in a woman's body, or vise-versa.
So to those people I was arguing with that said conservatism holds back progress, this proves you wrong.
-
Op basically got owned by the cellar door in this thread. Hahaha
-
Apart from the fact that this is fake (your article that is), the better thing to discuss here is why do you care? My opinion about it is very simple. I dont care, just let them do there thing. There are real articles out there about many things you do every day that is bad for you, show that you have a problem somewhere or i dont even know what else. If you are so interested in things like that, why dont you start to search and read those since those articles do effect you in alot of ways.
-
I'm sure the OP has wet dreams about transsexuals.
-
This study is about as fake and gay as a tranny.
So to those people I was arguing with that said conservatism holds back progress, this proves you wrong.
Where's your proof? The "study" you linked isn't even a peer reviewed study. It's an essay, which criticizes other studies through an extremely obvious bias. Lmfao.
Founded in 1976, the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) is Washington, D.C.'s premier institute dedicated to applying the Judeo-Christian moral tradition to critical issues of public policy.
Next time you want to talk about "proof" and criticize an ideal on the basis of "science," come up with an actual scientific study which offers contradictory evidence.

Extreme paranoia is also a mental illness. Guess we should start treating all the conservatives that think the government is gonna break down their doors and steal their guns away.
-
Look I'll bring out an unpopular opinion. I don't think transgenderism should even exist. Your born a man you stay a man, a woman a woman.
Not trying to offend anyone. But this is what I believe.
-
"hey guys! this incredibly biased study I found online is better than your study!!!!! looks like I'm right again, libtards!!!"
-
Ha so is alcoholism and drug addiction... Lots of things are a "mental illness"...
-
Facts don't care about your feeling.
-
For all those calling bullshit on the article above, here is the actual study. http://www.thenewatlantis.com/publications/introduction-sexuality-and-gender

If someone wants to be a different gender let them. I don't get it. Just leave them be you don't have to change gender if you don't want to. Gheeez. It's like being angry at everyone just because some people like potato and you don't.
-
That link looks extremely suspicious to me. Anyways, what kind of test was used to support these claims? I see no mention of any kind of data.
-
The article had no links to a research paper.....
I have been proven beyond that I have to prove my name. The word.
-
To be fair, studies like this come out relatively frequently and tend to contradict each other. It's hard to decipher which studies are more accurate. I am familiar with Dailywire as being a conservative news source so it doesn't surprise me that they would publish such a study as I'm sure opposing sites have done the same. My point being that just because this particular opinion exists, that does not make it a fact on its own.
-
That article was even worse than I thought it would be, lol.
-
You know an article is going to be great when the title is about a scientific discovery and the first word is "Democrats"
-
Edited by U6757109: 8/24/2016 5:08:15 PMThis is so utterly pointless. This isn't even a study, just some babble written by a religious fundamentalist.
-
The studies credibility has given me a mental illness
-
Wow this new study on the "daily wire" is definitely conclusive proof thanks op.
-
Well that's a few minutes of my life wasted... And I'm currently sitting in a train with not much else to do... For anyone who can't be bothered to read the whole page that's linked I'll sum it up for you. It's a load of shit. Unsupported by science my arse...
-
I didnt need to study to know that
-
So....it took a whole mob of Ph.D.'s to figure out a 6'2" hairy man with a cock the size of a mason jar REALLY ISNT A WOMAN even if he THINKS HE IS? Good God who would have THOUGHT?!

As a person who is heavily invested in Science, I sigh when every time some reads "A study shows" as gospel. For something to be a scientific fact, it must undergo rigorous testing. It must be peer reviewed, repeated, peer reviewed again, and must be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. This is why every other day on the news you'll hear "Studies show chocolate helps prevent cancer" and the next day you'll hear "a new study put out shows an ingredient in chocolate may be a carcinogen." This goes for anything. every time I hear that I skip it. Every time I read "a new study shows..." On these forums I just reply with this. A single study means nothing in the eyes of academia. You will always need more testing, a larger sample size, more peer review, etc. Wait a few years and see what science has to say about it.
