Ark survival evolved for noobs
Anyone out there want to help a couple PC ark noobs out? Would love some top 5 tips help?

Had a blast playing this game on w private server, started getting high level, had a couple argentavis', trex and sarcos. Started getting trolled by the alpha tribe, they would raid us every 3-5 days, for nothing, we barely had enough time to train a new bird but they would always come -blam!- us. Decided to move locations to the snow biome, got a massive metal building finish, 100 saber tooths and dire wolves, the host reset the server, quit playing after that

Edited by Sapid: 8/25/2016 1:51:29 PMWeek One Xbox was lots of fun, tons of people and everyone was on even footing. If you do PvP now the servers will be filled with mega clans, stay hidden and quiet or they will raid you for fun. Or they'll just wait until you gather enough stuff then raid you.

5 Replies1. Use Behemoth gates to make a wall around your base. 2. Get Plant X in the Swamp. They're plants that act as turrets that spit out acid. 3. Have at least a player or 2 dedicated on getting building perks while others forcus on weapon/armor crafting perks, and other useful perks. 4. Be careful who you trust if you're on a dedicated server. Everyone is out to get everyone. 5. Tame 30 Turtles. No reason behind this what so ever, they're just great.

So me and my wife have just started playing this game as well on Xbox one. I made a Non dedicated server for us to use until we get use to how things work.

If you're playing alone: As you're starting you want to stay as small and discreet as possible, hopefully no one will notice you until you can defend yourself to an extent Name yourself bob and start a tribe with the default name, this way if you cross anyone it will be hard for them to find you again and it will be difficult for them to tell which bases belong to you Make multiple bases when you get high enough level, one for storage of all your good stuff(far away and hidden), a living area, a decoy storage for your easy to farm materials, and a Dino pen preferably with a roof.

This applies for PvP servers 1. [b]never[/b] approach someone with a weapon out (club, spear etc.), and never run at them either. It will make you look hostile, just walk up to them slowly and keep your distance 2. Build a good structure. Skip thatch and just build a wood base. 3. Tame a lot of Dino's. Ok so if you're just starting out I'd recommend you tame a few low level dilos. I'd say about 3-5, use them for base defence and hunting partners. And don't worry about them dying because you can always tame more 4. Be nice to people, when you're just starting out in a server you don't want to just go around and try to pick fights with people. Try helping people out, because in the long run it's worth it 5. Try and fly under the radar. If you want to get far in a server try to be nice and not get raided

This game literally brings out the worse in people. I think ark is a great simulation of what people would be like in a zombie apocalypse Either join the alpha tribe or take no prisoners Don't do pve cause half of content you'll be locked out of and it just becomes a dino petting zoo I have 15 days of play time on this game and loved it till my friends stopped playing

1. BUILD- pretty much build a huge amount of crap as much as you can. You will gets lots of levels 2. Tame a trike- good early game transport Dino and good at getting narcoberries for taming 3. WEIGHT AND SPEED- on any Dino that you aren't using for fighting just level it up in these stats (maybe a bit of stamina) 4. Just level up weight and speed on your character in the beginning 5. PILLARS- if you are new to ark you prob don't know how weird building can be. Screw foundations on large building unless you find unnaturally flat ground. Just use pillars and ceilings as a floor
