Headseeker, Perfect Balance, Feeding Frenzy - Red Dot OES
I have 3 of these. All of them are decent, this one is my favorite. Probably better rolls, lot's of people with a better K/D than me, but IMO, this is how a weapon should handle in PvP.
Even when I lose a fight, I never feel like I was cheated. When I get the drop on someone, I KNOW the only thing stopping me from getting a kill is my aim. No weird penalties, not wonky mechanics, just me, and how well I aim the gun.
There are some other things that come close, and a lot of weapons actually feel pretty "fair". but the Grasp is simply fun. Every single time I use it, just plain fun.
Maybe that is how all weapons should be balanced. Forget the minutia of stats and kill percentages. Is it fun?
Overpowered? What difference does that make if all weapons are fun to use? If every archtype had it's thing? Even if it blurs the line between it's class and others.
Should the Grasp being deadly at scout/sniper range? I guess that depends on the overall goal of PvP. Sometimes what is most balanced, is not what is the most fun. So perhaps the solution to something like the Grasp is not to nerf it, though it honestly wouldn't bug me if they toned it down.
Maybe the answer is to seek out more "fun" from everything else.

Mi gusta mi grasp. Its in the precise spot (balance-wise) that all primaries should be IMO.
-
2 Repliesvery well said man. it boils down to the user if you win that gun fight or not using a grasp i happen to love my exhumed, HLS, third eye with ORS1 sight. i can't tell you how many times after respawn or revive, exhumed kicked in and i'd gun people down way past scout rifle range
-
Grasp is my bae, red dot, head seeker, braced frame and third eye. I have a hard time picking up any other gun for crucible right now.
-
Its op. Nerf it. Sweaty much bro? Scrub...
lolololol just playing homie. Use what you want and have fun with it.
Praedyth's Timepiece > Skorri's Revenge > Grasp of Malok > Oversoul Edict
-
1 ReplyMy grasp of Malok is my PVP gun Perfect balance, hand laid stock , their eye , red dot Thing shreds. Third eye is by far my favorite perk. Their shields are gone by the time they pick up the gun to aim.
-
3 RepliesAssuming they both have whatever perks you could possibly want on them which is better, Hawksaw or Grasp of Malok? Or would they come out the same?
-
My aegis of the reef does its job pretty well
-
1 ReplyThe thing about the grasp is the damage drop off. It drops off from 23 to 22 at range. That's pretty sick for a pulse rifle. Which is why I use one.
-
4 RepliesThey nefed doctrine they should nerf those into the ground:
-
Rangefinder Braced frame Glass half full here.
-
I have a grasp with . Counterbalance , Hamd laid stock, Glass half full. And a hawksaw with. Counterbalance, Hand laid stock. (Something). I like the grasp better although hawksaw kills a bit faster.
-
I really like my grasp, but, tbh, I don't think it's that much better than the current vendor roll hawksaw.
-
4 RepliesAll you people out there with Grasps, and I'm just here with my Skorri's Revenge...
-
I've got a few Grasps, and was using one primarily which has: Red Dot-ORS Rangefinder Hand-Laid Stock Glass Half Full. Now I thought this was a decent roll having a range and stability perk, and GHF. The problem is, with a small magazine and me being a habitual reloader, it was good, not great. GHF doesn't add as much value as you might think. Then I started watching a guy who has a Red Dot scope he likes, Outlaw, Braced Frame and Feeding Frenzy. Let me tell you... He said he personally believed it was the god roll, and I was like whatever. Then I switched to my other Grasp: Red Dot-ORS Outlaw Perfect Balance Spray and Play. Holy crap did I see a massive difference. The importance of reload speed on this particular weapon cannot be underestimated. If I only had feeding frenzy instead of spray and play, and braced frame instead of perfect balance... This is the roll I'll be going for then next time Omnigul visits for the night.

You had me at head seeker and perfect balance.
-
1 ReplyDon't see how you can get a better roll than the one on my Titan, always win the primary gun battle if I get first shots in.
Headseeker, Perfect Balance, Feeding Frenzy - Red Dot OES not wonky mechanics.

wtf
2 RepliesI feel this way about bad juju. It's so good!
-
1 ReplyExhumed, +2agility and third eye and it still shreds in crucible... Like it rekts, love to see a God roll one. That third eye really helps and playing it on a hunter lolz = easy button
-
I feel the same about my aegis of the reef. Those games where my aim is on point, the gun melts people.
-
1 ReplyPrefer my pdx-45, pulse rifles are the only weapons that are consistent. No ghost bullits or stuff like that
-
Edited by SweatSpaghet: 8/24/2016 8:24:17 PMI have a handful of guns I can enjoy using against the causal pvp encounter, but when I'm facing an aim vs aim battle I agree, it's Grasp or gtfo. I'm using other guns more often though, because Grasp reminds me of Hopscotch Pilgrim...bungie hates fun weapons. Check my warlock for my Grasp
-
I might enjoy my Grasp more if I could choose something other than a long range scope. I'm also stuck with secret round, which is an awful perk that lowers the rate of fire and time to kill if a shot misses. Adds that extra bullet that always misses and making the gun worse. I still enjoy it a lot though!

...yes. All weapons in it's class( shotguns, HCs, autos, ect) should be like the "op"(not really) weapons are right now( mida, TLW, GoM, uni, ect). Idk
