My mother always told me as a child to never trust fallen. She told of how they murdered my
father. She told me of their cruelty and pain, Strife and lies. I was raised to believe her. But their actions told me otherwise.
And so, the reef wars came. Many battles lied ahead, with agony to follow. But one day, a day long forgotten to me, I saw something none would believe.
I was scouting in the reef. Nothing new. The shivers of purple ice, the cold smell of winter,
And the screeches of a creature far behind.
While walking down a narrow path alone, I heard a whisper behind me. Not English, nor Russian.
No no.
Eliksni.
I turned my head to be greeted with a shock pistol to my face. Out of sudden reaction, I turned the Dreg's arm to face my right. I kneed him in his eliksni-no-no spot and he fell to his knees. I then elbowed him in his face. He fell to the ground in dread.
I pointed my pistol to his head, expecting to fire.
But when I looked in his eyes, as ugly as I thought they were, as cruel as I thought he was, I saw the same fear. The same fear of all the awoken he had
Killed. The same fear as when he put his gun to my face.
Now he knew that fear. He knew our anger. He knew our pain. And that was all that mattered.
I tried to shoot it. I tried to pull the trigger. But I couldn't. I threw the gun to my left, it's bang echoed through the dark beyond.
The Dreg remained there. Petrified. Confused. He then jolted his feet with his shock pistol in hand.
I closed my eyes, regretting my actions. I expected three bullets in my skull. instead, I was greeted with a loud banging noise on my left.
Slowly I opened my eyes. The dreg stood there, his pistol gone. I stood up and spoke to him.
"I wish all fallen were as kind and merciful as you."
The dreg said something in eliksni, what he said is unknown to me, but I understood four words:
Promise, marvel, take, shock.
A fallen captain screeched in the far distance. The dreg then sprinted away. I turned to my left, seeing his shock pistol. That day I returned to the vesting outpost with it. Petra came up to me and looked at The shock pistol.
"How did you get that?" She asked. I proudly answered with:
"It was the Dreg's promise."

2 RepliesGreat story but awoken don't really have mother's I don't think soooo you might want to check that
-
1 ReplyWould probably sound better if he was kneeled in the gut instead of his "no-no spot". Otherwise a good story.
-
1 ReplyThat's actually really freaking good

#NotLore Good read, nicely written, but still #NotLore

1 ReplyBlew my mind it was great
-
1 ReplyPretty good! The only concern I have is when you wrote the line about kneeling him in his "no-no spot" it seemed sorta inconsistent with the tone of the story. But that's just my opinion, it was great nonetheless!
-
Hey thats pretty good
-
1 ReplyFanfic isn't lore, therefore, don't put it under the lore tag
-
9 RepliesWeapons with travel time need to be buffed heavily If bungie doesn't plan on fixing the net ode and server/lag issue anytime soon As of right now weapons like dregs promise, vestian dynasty, vex mythoclast just don't work And fusion rifles are absurdly inconsistent

8 RepliesEdited by ColumboWormGod: 8/23/2016 4:38:27 AMSounds like cayde sixs story. He has one too. He helped a dreg fight off some hive. Really great though. In the end it gave him his pistol because it was dying. Then to make it easier to kill it and take it out of its misery, it attacks him so he would kill it.

4 RepliesThat's pretty good! Although I think that guardians don't remember their parents. All guardians are resurrected and I'm pretty sure that they don't remember their past before their ghost finding them. I also don't think that there is a natural born generation of guardians either.

5 RepliesEdited by Church: 8/23/2016 9:58:55 PMCorrection, its *greg's* promise
;)
8 RepliesI like it. But a bad bit of news: There's already a Grimore Card similar to this, except the Fallen Vandal kept fighting the guardian. So the guardian broke her arms.
-
I watched a streamer go flawless with one of those. It was amazing, considering how awful the weapon is.
-
9 RepliesOnly one problem. The gun is called the Dreg's Premise, not promise. Which defeats the purpose of the story. You could do a slight rewrite but that's too much work. Shame such a small mistake can ruin the entire thing when fixed.
-
That was good
-
I think it should be that one grimoire card with Cade 6 fighting hive with a vandal and she gives him a pistol
-
Do one for Pocket infinity or Boolean Gemini that ends the same way...

1 ReplyEdited by IndianJesus1: 8/23/2016 12:37:54 AMIf only the gun was as good as this fan lore....
Makes me want in game cutscenes for the guns in this game.
