Why is there often a female slant to Warlock raid armour?

I don't have a problem with it, as the designs are still good, but I notice that the Warlock's raid armour typically has a female slant. For example, the high collars (like an old-style dress). And the raid armour is often taken from the female enemies, like the Oryx sisters or Wizards. In my limited experience, many female players are drawn more to the fantasy of being a Hunter, not the Warlock. The warlock to me is like a masterful magician, yet they try to make it more effeminate. Ikora is even the only female Vanguard mentor. Do you think Bungie is deliberately trying to make the Warlock character appealing to female players or does it just make sense to do this because female enemies can be more easily converted into long flowing attire/robes?

  • Well females are generally renown as witches in fantasy so.. Also you'd be incorrect to say most females like hunters

  • I don't see why it matters so much... It's designed that because it just is.

  • Do you really need it explained to you why warlock armour looks feminine?

      • I blame hive themed raids. Unfortunately they try to base the armor of magical beings in the hive, which are wizards. who are females. So the armor comes off a feminine

      • Women are really good at multitasking, and using warlocks abilities must take some serious concentration (in lore because bolt grenades are easy to use) I feel like more women would be hunters and warlocks, because women in combat roles tend to take the mage/healer due to their ability their multitask, focus (snipers), and due to their motherly instinct to care for their family who are in pain I'm pretty sure there would still be a lot of male hunters Men tend to be very instinctive and that's one of the main traits of a shotguner, you can't teach instinct, so more men are most likely to be titans, they use their testosterone to pump them up in the heat of battle, and their male instinct to take take a bullet for those they care about. That's just me, I can't say it's true, since I can't snipe but, I'm pretty hard to hit as an agressive player

The only armor that looks good on male warlocks is Voidfang Vestmests. Everything else makes them look like they're cross dressing. Male Hunters look bloated with any armor they where. Like a middle-aged out-of-shape man who thought it would be cool to where a cape for halloween. Male Titans look super fat and top heavy like they only work out their upperbody at the gym. Just plain unathletic. Hopefully, Destiny 2 will have better male character designs because right now females look 10x better in most armor sets.

          • I don't agree at all. To me it always seems like the hunter is more aimed at female players. Not that it should matter we're all Guardians when all is said and done.

            • I don't think people get what you're trying to say. I understand. You're saying that end game warlock gear looks too feminine. I agree. Even on a male warlock, the design's still come from Victorian dresses. The only exception to this is the Vault of Glass armor.

              • Hunters have been traditionally identified as male. While men hunted for food, women gathered berries and looked after offspring. Titans also have male characteristics. The wall against which darkness breaks. Think about it. How many females do you know that could withstand a pounding? Ronda rousey I thought was one but turns out she can't. That leaves the magic dealing warlock. Warlocks are masters of manipulating the soft artsof magic yet lack the brute strength of a Titan or the agility of a hunter. Likewise, females are masters of manipulating the soft arts of human emotion yet lack the speed and strength of a man. This is what evolution has equipped females to be better able to compete with the faster and stronger males of the human species. Tldr; warlocks wear dresses
this is a joke. Please don't ban me
• I feel like its half and half. If you see a female character with kingsfall gear is it not hard to tell if its a female be because it is to me. And alot of the torn bird armor has hardly any indication of a female body. But the kellslayer does look more feminine. In the end they are robes not a dress and i think the male warlocks look the best in the game regardless

              • No? Not at all. Play as both a male warlock and a female one, both with the same armor set. It will look different, as the female sets have part of the robes removed, or a different style chest plate, etc.
