Element 117 discovered! Lets name it Johnium
Element 117 of the periodic table was [url=http://pubs.acs.org/cen/news/88/i15/8815notw8.html]discovered[/url] yesterday. We should start a campaign to name it Johnium!!! There is currently no "J" in the periodic table. This would be the perfect opportunity to add one, and it would strengthen 7th Column's influence on the scientific community, and eventually the world!!!
Before the element can be named, an independent team needs to confirm its existence by also creating it (smash calcium-48 into a target coated with radioactive berkelium-249). This gives Bungie an excuse to build a particle accelerator! Which we can use to confirm the element, name it Johnium, and then start producing enough antimatter (about 25 lbs) to hold the world hostage and take it over! Muhahahaha!!!!

Spartanium, yes, my vote goes for that. Or compromise, all of the Halo/Bungie related names This is so awesome it's beyond epic.

Wow that's really cool! I don't think Johnium or Johninium sound quite right. In fact, I agree with some of the other posters that credit should be given to the people who came up with John 117, the halo universe, and the strange affinity for the number 7. But Bunginium doesn't sound quite right. It's too long. I would like to see the 117th element of the periodic table named "Bungium". It's a lot shorter and sounds like a real element name. I mean, come on, think about it. The "seventh column" of the periodic table, the number 117, it just has to be named after Bungie. So how about Bungium?

lol I am definitely liking some of the suggestions, Halonium, Spartanium, Johntonium, and Bunginium are my favs so far. I was just in the "voting booth" forum, looks like only Bungie employees can make polls? Is there anyway I can make one on here? Don't spend too much time in forums usually... I'm more of just a news reading guy.

Me thinks the OP should have the honor (for making the post) to select the best names, and create a poll. Then we petition to have the element named that. We track down the guys who discovered it and whoever may be in charge of naming it. Spam emails.
