It seems that the pendulum has shifted strongly back to connection based (CBMM). Where I was maintaining 1.5ish kd's and up often times (never negative), now I'm RARELY positive. I'm matched with players that are now [b][i][u]significantly[/u][/i][/b] better than me and I typically just get screwed. Stop listening to the small but vocal percentage of elite pvp'ers (they are good enough they should be able to handle a match against others of similar skill instead of preying on the rest of us), SBMM sets matches with teams of similar kd and elo and results in enjoyable, yet challenging games with only a rare few blowouts. No reason you can't run a hybrid as well. Prioritize connection in the first block of the search, once that net is set and the player base is found, cast another net based on skill, bada bing you have a proper match. This is really not that complicated.
