Those encounters were a lot more fun than the Taken zealots.
Edit: We got a reply from Coz, good job everyone, thank you for keeping this thread going. There have been some great ideas on here. I personally love the idea of bringing back both the Wolves and the Blades of Crota and making it so they occasionally spawn alongside each other. That would make for a chaotic and incredibly fun encounter!

There were a million complaints over those chests. Now you want to bring them back? I'd rather Bungie put their effort into something else rather then those chests. Repetitive and boring imo.

I don't know anything about the wolf chests, but it sounds fun. So far,nth most intense event seems to be enemy is ris no against each there in the skywatch

The one thing we all like in a game is kaos if you can emagine all events going of on skywatch like the wolfs, darkbelow, taken all happening at the same time that sounds like fun we all enjoy things like that

Oh hell yes! You had to Patrol to get keys and just about everyone I saw jumped into the fray as soon as the Wolves appeared. Such great times. Finding the chests could be a bitch but that was part of it and so many players Waved to let the rest of us know They Found The Chest.

I had forgotten about them but I liked farming for the chests. The wolves dropping were 1000x better than the damn taken spawning.

That you had to search the world for an RNG chance to collect a key that gave you an RNG chance to find something in a chest that had an RNG chance to be worth having is possibly the worst way to go about this I could imagine. Now if you want to bring wolves back and place them in the current 3oC strata in the way the Taken ultras do, that might be something. To be honest though, I'm worn out on the Taken - they're more of an annoyance at this point. I don't complain much about that because for players trying to move to max light it's probably the single most important thing you can do alone. It's a necessary element for that reason. The idea we'd have public events spawn upon Taken incursion spawn upon Wolves incursion does not entice me to hang out in an area. Not if I was filling bounties and just wanted to get done. I'd move right along. Given public events come every 20-30 minutes, Taken every 10 minutes, and likely Wolves every 10 minutes... well, you see where that goes...
