The First Curse: It needs a buff

This is the only exotic hand cannon that isn't as powerful as it's counterparts such as Thorn, Last Word and Hawkmoon. The First Curse needs to be buffed in both range and damage increase from it's exotic perk. This is specifically the buffs it needs: - First Curse exotic perk now increases damage so it can two shot headshot for a kill. - Range needs to be increased so there is minimal range drop off on only this hand cannon. - More emphasis on precision rather than body shots. This would make First Curse competitive to an extent and have it's own unique perk like all other exotic hand cannons. It would reward the user for making precision shots rather than spamming body shots. You have to first proc the perk in the first place which is hard to do but then rewarded with the ability to 2 shot headshot. Plus you only have 8 shots in the magazine that have the possibility to two shot until you have to do the slow reload. Right now, if I use First Curse, I don't feel rewarded for making precision shots but when I used any other exotic hand cannon I get rewarded like fast TTK with Last Word, DoT with Thorn, and Lucky Bullets with Hawkmoon. The two shots would not make it over powered at all either because legendary cannons with LiTC can two tap headshot as well but do it faster. Also when the First Curse perk isn't active any other hand cannon has a faster base TTK than it. Not to mention the beautiful aesthetics the First Curse has. With the spinning, black and silver and the lore of it being the opposite of it's Last Word counterpart. It is a true precision weapon for any Guardian that has the skill to use it to it's full potential. Tl:dr First Curse needs a buff. Buff the exotic perk for it to be able to two shot headshot while the perk is active.

  • Damage is a bit much. You can already two shot low armor opponents. I guarantee that this weapon would become a meta that can out play many weapons. And then people will ask for nerfs. It's not terribly hard to activate the perk in the first place. But what SHOULD happen is that when the perk is active, range and accuracy should increase by a decent amount. The damage fall off really screws with you on this weapon. And the inaccuracy at range is also frustrating since this is a slow and patient weapon. I do agree that damage should go up, but only by a tad bit so low-medium level armored players can be two shot. It shouldn't guarantee two shot kills because that would make this weapon very difficult to compete with.

Funny thing is I was just about to make a post suggesting exactly this but I'm glad to see one was already made. Also imo I don't understand why the High impact/low rof HC 3 shot like the other 2 HC types....it just immediately makes them less effective unless they have amazing perks to close the gap. "- More emphasis on precision rather than body shots." Although a 2 hit headshot kill would more than do this, it would be extremely fun to make this gun reward precision hits in other ways other than what it already does (triple tap and first curse).

        Negative. The Curse a cannon that greatly rewards a clam demeanor and a steady hand...er.. Controller? It's fine how it is.
