After months of trying to get to lighthouse, realised that I needed a carry and got first lighthouse trip last weekend. With it came the Bastets Dream emblem. Have had the emblem on since then.
In a match of salvage (yesterdays daily), and got a spanking from a well drilled team. The rest of us were soloing it. I hold my hands up - I had a nightmare.
Post match got a message from an opponent saying "you must of got a carry. remove that emblem'. I didn't respond as I'd more than likely get myself banned. Are destiny players really that salty that they have to send messages like this, even when they win?
I used to draw hate using uni remote, now I can't even wear trials emblems without getting hate mail!

I'm not bad in Pvp, I have about a 1.2 k/d which is average. Definitely not flawless. With that being said I have a couple of Trials emblems from Y1, even the exotic emblem. I hardly ever wear them because I know I was carried to the lighthouse. I mean I did my part in PvP and did what I could with the skills that I have. But I couldn't get those emblems without the help of a excellent PvP player. I wear them sometimes very rarely but I try to avoid the hate mail especially from salty gamers. So if you want to wear them it's your game but beware of the salty ones who see the emblem. Expect some backlash from it.

2 RepliesDont worry bro. People on destiny are pricks anyway. Very few sweats are nice and not rude.

I have a friend who gave his log on details to people who are great at trials. They played on his account and got the trials flawless emblem. When I saw him equipping it i always have a chuckle as I know how bad he is at pvp (0.2 kd in most matches!!). Do I get mad enough to tackle him over it? Hell no. It's his. Same for you. Wear it with pride. At least you took part in the event that you got the emblem on. I would have equipped my adept weapon and messaged the idiot sending you hate mail to rate your.... whatever.

It is probably some child mouth-breather, don't sweat it. Was playing last night just slaughtering some team in Zone Control and a guy proceeds to send pictures of himself to my friend in the match of him in school, some kid sitting at a desk.. People are f'n weird and kids do crazy things and think anything in this game actually matters.

I only send hate when people tbag even though they suck or if they're using a really crutch weapon

Eye of Osiris all day.

Pretty much the same thing as the whole "oh you xurned it". Just wear whatever emblem you want. You went flawless. Plain and simple. If you like the emblem then wear it, -blam!- all the idiots that play this game and try to dictate what people can and can't do. You earned it. Going flawless y2 is a whole different animal than y1 too so props on that.
-
If you're comfortable wearing it, wear it. I'm not, despite going flawless 9 times. I'm not consistent enough to do it justice.

2 RepliesEdited by Pope: 8/11/2016 12:21:45 PMTbh when i play people with flawless and scarab they tend not to be that good . not sayiny you but majority . Its your emblem and your game so do what you want . You made it so you can wear the emblem

Edited by Trev16: 8/11/2016 12:50:40 PMYour kd is around the same as mine, obviously not carried to the lighthouse. -blam!- those -blam!-ers. I have an affinity for ancient Egypt and the culture so I like wearing my scarab but usually don't because people get ass cancer over an emblem. Edit: I was basically saying do as you please.

1 ReplyPeople getting salty over an emblem, lol. Wear it with pride.
-
Dude wear ur emblem who cares about the haters. Unless you sat in one spot all 9 matches then you deserve it just as much as anyone else
-
1 ReplyHonestly i think only scrubs use that emblem (personal opinion) and majority of the time im right.
-
I'm sure you must have got some kills and revives on your lighthouse run so if that's the case you deserve the emblem. As long as you was active in the matches you played your part, be it getting killed is shifting focus on you away from team mates or getting a kill lessening the burden on them or getting a revive etc etc.
-
Yep that's happened to me to. I'm ok at crucible but definitely not good enough to go flawless. So I when a couple of guys that I helped in a raid asked if I wanted to go flawless with them I gratefully said yes. I held my own in all of the matches. Got the scout, chest and bond from it. I am forever grateful to those guys.
-
Wear it dude, you still earned it no matter how it happened
-
keep wearing it bro don't tell the haters what you can or cannot do

Whether or not you got carried is irrelevant. My 1st 2 lighthouses were in fact carries, but the rest were not. Why? Cause I practiced. Continue to wear the emblem. You deserve it regardless of how you got it. Ignore that jerk. There's a block feature for your console, use it. :)

1 ReplyCan't you just smell the cancer?
-
2 RepliesWear your useless as -blam!- emblem with pride! Take the hate mail and reply with a LOL. Unless you are a child, then react like this, and take every message you get to heart and come on the forums to moan about it.

Edited by DeeOhhJay: 8/11/2016 11:40:59 AMtbh it is an emblem at the end of the day in a video game. Who cares if you are bad at the game or amazing, it's your choice. The other thing is who cares about that emblem. Scarab heart is more sweaty. I like my scarab

I've been y1 (not carried) but I can't find any good teams to go nowadays idc even of I was carried I just wanna go

Edited by DSRT976: 8/11/2016 11:35:05 AMWhen i see someone with flawless emblem and postgame kd .5 or lower i'm laughing. I'm was carried to the lighthouse once before april update, but i never wear that flawless emblem with proud, because i know that despite i really did a couple solid game breaking saves i was carried.

Seeing how every single weekend I see dozens of people doing carries, It stands to reason that there is a lot of people out there carried to the light house. Say 24 people do carries every weekend, each one does 5 carries. 52 weeks in one year = 6,240 guardians in one year get carried. (Keep in mind this is hypothetical, because I know there will be hate comments made. Now there is more than 24 people doing carries and some do more than 5 in a week and some do less.) That's a lot of guardians potentially wearing a flawless emblem. Before it all starts, NO I HAVEN'T been to the lighthouse. My K/D has risen over the past year but does that really matter? I've played my hunter lately and most games end up over a 1.0 but, the other day had a .10 after a match. Red bar and green bar lag, Inconsistent weapons, and other players following you trying to steal your kills, other players deliberately moving into your line of sight, And other players not paying attention to other players, it is difficult to git good. So don't worry about a comment from other players, some are just butthurt that you got carried and they had to go through the trouble of making a lag switch. (SOME, not all)

To be honest it's more fun equipping the starting class emblem and the starter ship so people underestimate you. Carrying the sphinx emblem does come with certain expectations... but i'd never take the time to msg someone about their performance whilst wearing it. Just sit back and enjoy the fact that the person messaging you is probably the sort of person that goes through a controller a week because they rage through it at walls all the time.
