It takes up the first perk slot node while VoG weapons had the increased damage to x AFTER the last node. A perk slot wasn't wasted on VoG weapons.

Doesn't really matter, dude. You are nitpicking at something that really is inconsequential. The cocoon mechanic is awesome and being able to pull out a shotgun real quick for some CQB and going back to a ranged primary without any reloads is incredibly convenient. The KF raid weapons are actually more perked out than any other raid weapon set. They have TWO unique perks (Cocoon and WIll of Light) AND they get a column of perks to select from on the gun itself. Look at previous raid weapons - KF actually has more utility in its weapons than other raid sets. Granted, VoG weapons are by far the most powerful (perk columns all have the best perks to choose from), but they were pretty much exotics without a gold background in Y1. Bungie toned down the perk columns in Y2 because of it, actually.

That's why their not worth the time obtaining. Also the only raid weapon that I would even consider exotic is pre-nerf black hammer but whatever the raid weapons suck now that's why you never hear players saying "omg I got a doom of chelchis".

Smite of Merain - Pulse Rifle Silence of A'arn - Shotgun Qulium's Terminus - Machine Gun All of these are good raid weapons. The pulse rifle can roll Firefly (which I have) and it is a monster. The shotgun has a fast fire rate and having the perk Life Leech is really good for successive kills. The machine gun is obviously good, regardless of perks.
