as an adult with kids
son realize there are idiots in the world learn to ignore them cause later on in life you cant just report them for cyber bullying :)

telling my son just remember punks will be punks and sometimes in real life if they do this and make first physical contact then take them down and pound the crap out of them !!! humiliate them as badly as you can
if you see someone bullying someone else stick up for the kid being picked on and if the bad punk touches you then pound the crap out of the bully !!!! teach him a lesson then tell the kid being bullied you need to grow a pair learn how to fight back

Human beings learn through observation. If you never see anyone stand up to a bully, how do you learn how to stand up to bullies? That's why it's important for the people who [b]are[/b] strong enough to call people out when they are treating others badly to make our voices heard. People being bullied need that example to be set. They need to see people standing up for themselves and they need learn that other decent human beings will have their back when they do the same. This is precisely the opposite of "pussification". The people who are WEAK are the people who bully. The people who are WEAK are the people who are too scared to stand up for themselves [b]and others[/b]. If you consider yourself the type of person who would attempt to step in to stop a mugging, who would stop an assault, or who would defend their family, then why are you scared of stopping a bully on behalf of someone who clearly isn't capable of defending themselves?

You do ocassionally see bullies pick on hard targets. They just get stopped REALLY fast. Bullies tend to adopt a scattergun approach to who they target because they don't care about themselves enough to worry about getting mashed by a hard target when the ego boost they would get from any level of sucess against a harder target would be worth the risk.

Agreed, This whole Sticks and Stone will break my bones but Words Will -blam!-ing Destroy Me culture has gotten just a touch out of hand. My 7 year old was being bullied repeatedly at his school, to the point I finally had to get involved as the parent. He is shy and quiet and keeps to himself for the most part. Instead of throwing a tantrum (like some parents would do...i seen it happen) I simply went to the school and expressed my concern over the situation with the principle and explained, very calmly to them that if they were unable to resolve it then I would let my 7 year old stand up for himself. Guess what........no more bully problem The point is bullying will always be present and unless you are capable of standing up for yourself (like my 7 year old, he is perfectly capable of standing up for himself if he needs to) You cannot expect everyone to baby you throughout life, toughen up abit, show the bully you wont stand for it and 9 times out of 10 they will stop, if they for some reason don't then you ask for help. My Pops told me when I was in highschool and I still remember "There is Always Gonna be Someone That Can Whoop Your Ass" What he meant was if you pick on someone......eventually your gonna pick on someone that is gonna beat the hell out of you and your gonna learn a lesson the hard way. I was never a bully I dont think but I know the kids that did get picked on and once they started picking back that shit stopped

Don't you see that you did precisely what Charlemagne is saying? You saw someone weaker than yourself being bullied and you stood up for them in the most appropriate way, and you taught them the lesson that standing up for yourself is ok. If your son had a best friend at the school who was being bullied by the same kids that bullied your son what would you want your son to do? Ignore it or stand up for his friend like you taught him? Would you want him to tell you about it, and would you back him up and speak to the principle again? Or when it is a kid who isn't your kin do you just ignore the situation and let them suffer until their family step in on their behalf? This isn't about being weak, this is about learning how to direct your strength appropriately and teaching the weak to be strong by setting a strong example.
