Sprint Locking (fixing it with an artifact)

So, this 'feature' that many of us thought to be a bug, is apparently intentional, or at least you want us to believe that. Now, instead of just fixing it, you're going to make us choose between our characters actually do what we tell it to and unique and interesting abilities? Why? Why is it unreasonable to expect my characters, who seem to have no issues running for miles without stopping, to be able to continue running after making a jump? This 'feature' is inconsistent and has no place in a game where mobility is such a huge factor. Why should I be punished for trying to use the abilities I have available? When I hit jump, I expect to jump; when I hit sprint, I expect my character to start sprinting, not take a leisurely stroll while I'm getting chased by a guy with a shotgun.
