I don't know if this type of comparison has been brought before or not, but I've found that there is a lot of symbolizism that references the show. Here are some examples:
Felwinter - The name itself is clearly a disambiguation of Winterfel. Winterfel being the home of the Starks whose sigil is a direwolf.
Wolves - Coincidentally the Lords of Iron favor wolves.
Kingslayer Shell - A probable reference to Jamie Lannister killing the Mad King. A ghost shell obtainable by killing a Hive King.
Ahamkaras - Dragons brought to extinction by guardians long ago. Similar to how dragons also went extinct in GoT.
The Wall - Both walls, whether in the show or in the game serve the purpose of keeping enemies out and protecting the people within. Both stretch hundreds of miles long and both were created after their individual wars. Although one by the First Men and the other by the Lords of Iron.
Sparrows - Sparrows in Destiny are iron steeds used to traverse quickly from one point to another. Sparrows in GoT are a cult like religious group that follows the Faith of the Seven. The only thing that I can conclude is that this is where Bungie probably got the "sparrow" label from.
The Traveler - The Traveler is the Lord of Light. Guardians are technically followers of the light. We come back from the dead over and over again thanks to the Traveler and it's light. Game of Thrones happens to have a religion that follows the Lord of Light and some of their followers have brought back the dead through the Lord of Light.
Ghost - Peter Dinklage plays Tyrion Lannister in GoT. He was also the original voice actor for Ghost. Someone must really like GoT to have chose him of all people. Even Jon Snow has a direwolf named Ghost.
Crows - They are a group of spies under the command of Prince Uldren in Destiny. In GoT they are a group of men sworn to defend the wall known as the Crows to the wildlings under leadership of their Lord Commander. There's not much to compare other than the name.
Other minor similarities:
Awoken Queen - Has about the same level of bitter bitch to her as Queen Cersei does.
These are just some of the similarities I could find. Of course all of this won't make any sense to someone who doesn't watch the show.

1 ReplyThat's a lot! In fact there's also a ton of similarities between destiny and dark souls. Otherwise known as small Easter eggs

1 ReplyThere was a scene in GoT a while back where Tyrion/Dinklage is riding in a carriage with a single window. This particular window is in the shape of ghost.

Kingslayer shell: King slayer cause we slayed a King... Yeah dragons are meant to be extinct like in skyrim and other fiction media Trump wants to build a wall is he copying destiny or got (maybe even them Chinese folks) Isn't iron stead just a nickname for a horse with armor? Yeah usually goodguys are on the "light side" ghosts as in g-host as in guardian host and a "spiritualbeing" that comes from dead people and obviously Peter dinklage hasn't played in any other movie or TV show crows are usually seen as a bad Queens are often seen as bitchy and full of themselves
