You lost me at screw meaning the same thing as -blam!-. One obviously carries more weight than the other. Not only that, you got warned, not banned. 6 months ago they probably would have just banned you. I've noticed a trend lately with a lot of these "Why was I warned" posts popping up. It seems to me the ninjas are being kinder by saving the bands for bigger breaks and handing out more slaps on the wrist, or that could just be my personal perception. Take your slap on the wrist and stop telling people to go -blam!- themselves. Problem solved. It doesn't matter how you think someone should have reacted to your words. What matters is there was an obvious malice behind what you wrote. If you can't control yourself and be the bigger person when confronted by the elitist douchebag then maybe you don't belong on this forum. Because I guarantee that isn't the last one you're going to see.

  • Getting offended when someone is told to go -blam!- themselves is childish, pure and simple. You're in this entire topic crusading for strict morals and prudish vocabularies. There's a certain amount of reality you cannot let go of, online or offline. The fact that telling someone to go -blam!- themselves is viewed as such a taboo is pathetic, at best. Grow up, and grow some thicker skin while you're at it. (I'm using words like "you" on general and not directly referring to you.) That being said, it's understandable they have particular rules in place. But if they're going to spend their time policing little "-blam!- you's" and "go -blam!- yourselves", they are wasting valuable time they could be spending on the multitudes of belligerent comments popping up on bnet every day. Like Cozmo said, there are approximately 100,000 new posts every day, and the Ninjas don't get to them all. It's a shame they're making that simple fact worse by policing simple, trite insults over harassment, threats, etc. I've experienced them and decided to check back on them afterwards. No surprise, they were still there. I think they were removed only once or twice. I get that you believe moderators are infallible, have no bias, and are omniscient in all CoC circumstances (as your comments have allowed me to conclude; geez, you have never studied human error/bias), but you'd be deluded in approving the tradeoff between time wasted on common phrases (stripped of their magnitude by banality) and time that could be spent on more serious issues.

Yeah I didn't get past your first sentence. Telling someone to go -blam!- themselves is childish. You can't be mad when someone gets offended after you insult them. I don't believe the moderators are perfect. They're human. But you can't put yourself in spot where a mod can side against you and then get mad when they give you a warning.

  • I see you decided to edit that post ever-so-subtly after you attempted to actually read. You contradicted yourself; you said the moderators weren't perfect but then explained that you can't put yourself in a position where they can be against you. You're bringing in a rock-and-a-hard-place type of situation that is commonly talked about in law studies and argumentation classes. That mindset is avoided for a reason, and that reason is because using it often places more blame on non-moderators (in this case, the vulnerable party) without even having adequate information to do so. You've been proving that pretty well with the comments you've littered all over this topic. It's a good thing you won't reply. I could've expected more blessed-be-the-moderators behavior and I-don't-actually-want-to-read-what-you-said replies.

  • Also, I'm not sure why that comment was necessary. I never once remarked--implicitly nor explicitly--that it wasn't immature. Gah. I should expect less when it comes to basic comprehension on these forums.

  • I see you have nothing else relevant to say as you've begun to throw in subtle insults at me. So rather than entertaining you I'm going to go ahead and refrain from responding anymore here.

  •
I see you have nothing else relevant to say as you've begun to throw in subtle insults at me.
If you want relevance, put your big-boy thinking cap on and read the above paragraphs. You can't engage in conversation when the other party refuses to hear another side of the conversation. That was obvious enough for even you to be able to understand it.

  •
Yeah I didn't get past your first sentence.
As expected. I've come to realize that anything longer than a couple tiny paragraphs (if even that many) deters "readers" on this forum.

  • No. If you open your comment with bullshit I'm not gonna bother reading through the entire comment. Because there's a good chance it's filled with more bullshit. And after skimming your final paragraph I can confirm that it was mostly bullshit.

And after skimming your final paragraph I can confirm that it was mostly bullshit.
In other words, you skimmed through all your opposing viewpoints chapters in debate class. Also, you made it a point to say you skimmed. That's a simple way of confirming your strangely low reading level and subpar comprehension capacities. Ahhh. Please stay in school. And improve your vocabulary; using the same descriptive words three or more times is quite enough to indicate that your vocabulary level sits between that of a sixth and seventh-grader. Also, stop cursing. You've clearly demonstrated your belief that it's oh-so damning.

If we're going to pretend curse words are taboo even though we use them ritually every day, then we're deluding ourselves. If we're going to pretend it's worse than allowing and even encouraging elitist behavior, then it's no wonder nobody new wants to join this -blam!-ed up company's game. That is the point I'm getting at. Obviously the Code says I was out of line. My point is the Code isn't really aimed at actually cleansing the Forums, and overall Bungie encourages divisive behaviors in their own Community and only moderates when they feel like they've easily met all the criteria necessary for intervention, not actually whether or not the situation needed intervention. I don't understand how you can all sit there and pretend that a single curse between disagreeing parties is worse than someone essentially belittling and dividing up newcomers with petty blanket statements like "You don't know, you were never there," etc. It's players like this who essentially drive away potential long-term consumers. But one little curse and Little Timmy can't sleep at night, I guess? It's beyond ridiculous.

  • The word -blam!- isn't the problem. The way you used the word -blam!- is what they saw as a problem. Again. Just take the L and use the mute function.
