Is it because your in his throne world or what?
Edit: THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who helped me get this info(some of it is copy and pasted so don't sue
The shadows of oryx were the black oryxen (plural?). The oryx killed in the last mission was actually him in normal form, then he uses the sword to become taken oryx (hence the demonic giggle like "come get me now! Hehe) before he disappears to the throne world.
And in his throne world, he can show his true form, which is a God, hence why he is so gigantic. But in the raid, you don't actually kill him. What you do is destroy his worm. Once you do this, he becomes a mortal, and so, when in space he boils, freezes, then proceeds to explode.

4 RepliesWell first Aurash became level 15 and evolved into Auyrx then Auyrx became level 34 and evolved into Oyrx and finally Oyrx became level 68 and evolved into a slightly bigger Oyrx

8 RepliesIt is because he placed himself in the ascendant plane. In the ascendant plane hive are placed into their true and final form. Also if they die in the ascendant realm they are killed for real.
-
1 ReplyBecause in King's Fall, you confront him in his personal throne world, where he is at his most powerful (and ironically, his most vulnerable).

3 RepliesOryx: This isn't even my final form! Guardian: Shit... Oryx: *teleports away* Guardian: What? LATER Guardian: HOLY SHIT!! Super Taken Mega Space Godzilla Oryx: FEAR ME!!

We didn't destroy his worm. We simply prevented him from killing us, and he died because his worm wasn't fed.
-
Book of Sorrow L: Wormwood talks a little about Oryx's realms.
-
3 RepliesOryx took himself to his Throne World, where his true power, shape and form comes into play
-
The mother trucker took himself so we had to kill him once more in the ascendant world
-
Always hoped the raid had a permanent solution. I never got it till now after reading. Thanks for the treat!
-

1 ReplyHe taking as-teroids.
-
Throne World + He is Taken. The oryx we fight in Regicide is regular oryx, in the raid he is Taken Oryx.
-
21 RepliesThe entire Dreadnought is technically his throne world, but I would say that in the raid you are at his actual throne, where he has more power. If you read through the Book of Sorrows, Oryx and his sisters actually are gigantic, so the giant Oryx in the raid is his full-sized form

1 ReplyIt's the usual bs in this game. Smaller size enemy becomes largest size.

1 ReplyOryx is so cheesy.

He didn't take himself, he took his worm so it wouldn't eat away at him.
-
Mabey cause he took himself??
-
Where we fight him us his Throne World where can he can shape reality, we f*cked up his power though by destroying all his links and forcing him to use little of his power.
-
Because that's his final form
