How simple do we have to put it?
Whenever arc burn comes into heroic strikes it becomes the most fun ever.
BUT WITH ONE GUN
annnnnd it's a -blam!-ing exotic. Which makes EVEN LESS choice of other weapons a possibility in your load out.
Who the living -blam!- is making the decisions over there?
They need to be FIRED.

4 RepliesI think Bungie understood the removal of elemental damage in primaries is better for the game, this is why they left one primary with elemental damage in the game. Furthermore, they should do the same with specials and heavies...remove all elemental damage except for one weapon. This helps diversify the use of weapons in the game.

83 RepliesThey was left behind. For good reason. Every post I see about this DOES NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT what element primary's did to all other guns. If it's arc burn and my primary is arc I HAVE NO NEED TO USE MY SPECIAL OR HEAVY, but is one small area the boss. There is no tactics. No choice in secondary. My arc primary shreds every thing. In year one every one picked the gun that matched the burn and preceded to make a joke of the game WITH 1 GUN. Those that was unlucky enough to not have that gun was left to sit in the back and wate for the "pro" (only due to his gun) clear stuff. Upping the health to make up for the extra damage just makes it harder for any one with out a matching burn gun, and makes it almost impossible for any new comer to be effective in any way. A non effective player is always excluded or used as a last resort.

I finally got abyss defiant last week, was sooo happy then sooooooo -blam!-ing sad, bump

Edited by BRAZACK: 8/1/2016 8:15:21 PMLuke smith must have been high when he had the idea to remove ele primaries for "more weapon variety". The only thing i use these days is hung jury because its the only thing close to fatebringer(all hcs still suck nutz). If there's arc burn i would use zhalo. He pretty much destoyed weapons variety trying to fix a problem that we didnt have(he wanted to create more weapons variety). I mean sure if fb was still viable and hcs were like they were in HOW it would be my default weapon. i do switch weapons up on nf and stuff because of burns though. If i had a choice i would probably use fb for 10 years lol. Ace of spades needs arc burn and hcs need to be like they were in HOW (except for lw and thorn).

2 RepliesEdited by STARKILLER2258: 8/1/2016 3:00:25 AMWhen it came to elemental primaries I just about had them all, and I used them all. This year I use 2 guns. Variety my f*cking ass.

bump. BTW it was Luke Smith's call to remove elemental primaries. I agree, he should be fired.
-
3 RepliesAll weapons should deal an elemental damage type. Rng for which burn. Weapon diversity acheived.

1 Replyso what youre saying is make the 1 exotic primary with elemental damage not do elemental damage so we could use any gun?
i know what youre trying to say but it doesnt come across that way. it comes off like this. ^^
Wrong

It was luke smith, his team or he's taking the fall for someone elses vision that he had to work with. They wanted diversity and what they got was a last word shit show.
-
This is ass backwards.

That's a bit dishonest, no? Yes. When and ONLY when arc burn shows up, Zhalo is the best and only choice. So only two activities get it. and not even all the time. In every other activity, or when arc burn is not active for weekly strikes. Any scout rifle is a viable weapon. Nearly any Hand Cannon is a viable weapon. Pulse Rifles are usable. Auto rifles still suffer in PvE. Do not get me wrong. I miss elemental primaries. Bungie logic for getting rid of them was flawed (as making ALL weapons have elements would have been even better at solving the problem) The issue is we used them to trivialize their would-be "endgame activity" by killing things with primaries that hit like snipers (or harder, if small arms was on). The real reason? To nerf us. Why esle would they also reduce our bonus damage for burn but keep the enemies just as high? We proved it wasn't hard enough and chose to nerf us to simulate difficulty.
-
Oh yeah. one week everyone uses the same guns. The horror. I'd much rather have months of everybody using the same guns. /s
-
With primary elemental damage, PRIMARY weapons were viable in burn situations. Now it's just equip the appropriate sniper rifle, then sit back and shoot the boss in the head. Year 2 of Destiny has been a major yawnfest.
-
I used vex but it didn't work out. The gun itself has been nerfed too much to use adequately in primary.

2 RepliesThe heroic list is solar burn and small arms, my wife is running vision, vex and abyss defiant depending on the strike. First time in a while I've seen her legit having fun playing in a while.
-
if each primary weapon in the game including exotics (unless there is an in-game reason they are kinetic or a particular element) had an arc, solar and void version then that immediately triples the number of unique primary weapon builds which means diversity is tripled

3 Repliesthe majority of the community already know bungie is full of idiots, the other portion spends day and night defending their poor choices. those are the ones who support Hillary Clinton.
-
Dude a million posts have been made like this. All with valid feedback. Their reason for removing burn primaries has been proven to be BS many times. They just don't give a shit.

3 RepliesModifiers this week are solar burn cool I can wreck everything with my raze lighter and sleeper .. Even dragons breath .. But what the other modifier is small arms !! Let me get my vex or a " legendary primary with solar burn ... Oh wait they don't exist anymore ... Here is the solution have Xur sell a consumable item for a elemental burn on your weapon make it extremely expensive maybe even have a ranking system with xur to purchase it shit even a quest line ..

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/210107108?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=0 I agree

I disagree with the fact that eliminating elemental primaries resulted in less weapon diversity. Maybe I'm speaking for myself, but since Taken King released, my characters has multiple primaries and also different ones. Each one plays a different role whether it's nightfall, crucible or raids. In some ways, I do miss some of my raid weapons like VoC and Fatebringer or even AE, but mainly it's the weapons I miss, not the elemental primary it brought.

It's sort of like the minimalist approach people take when designing the interior of their home. Except, in this case, we had shit. They took shit away. And we're left with the shit they said we could keep.
-
All they need to do is compensate for the extra damage we would be capable of. They need to add more things in the game to chase after. This and raid perks being infusable to gear would be a start. This shallow chase for max light as the end game is stupid. It should be about things like the above, and optimizing builds. That's how these games are, and they don't seem to get it. I remember them talking about how no one in the dev team pays attention to the 3 main stats for super grenades and melee. Something to that effect and all I can think is yeah no crap. People are too busy trying to get max light because it's way too hard.
