• Morrowind, Oblivion and Dragon Age:Origins are all phenomenal games in their own right. However, Skyrim, DA2 and DAI are rather mediocre. I prefer the massive amounts of in-game lore and giant sandboxes of the Elder Scrolls, personally.

  • Thedas is my favourite fantasy setting ever. Dragon age: origins also has the best story I've ever experienced in video game.

    • Well, seeing as how Skyrim and ESO are just attempts to drive TES into the ground while Inquisition was a huge improvement over the lackluster DA2, I'd have to give it to Dragon Age. Also, no dragons in Dragon Age ever started flying backwards away from me.

Origins>All Elder Scrolls imo DA 2 was okay, I didn't mind it, but Oblivion and Morrowind are better As for Inquisition, I still enjoyed Oblivion more Skyrim was just too bland for me

    • Dragon age origins is better than any TES game, but da2 a lot and dai some weigh down dragon age so that TES is a better overall series.

    • Skyrim is far superior than Dragon Age inquisition. It's the pinnacle of rpg games in that enables you to craft your own storyline along with the extreme amount of character customization (insane number of skill options and upgrades). DAI feels much more scripted in your character building and dialogue options in the story. The overworld in skyrim is also considerably larger than that of DAI's with a greater amount of flora, fauna, hostile enemies, and other npcs to interact with. Finally, the weapon and armor creation in Inquisition is agonizingly grind heavy since it is based off of blue prints that you acquire randomly requiring materials that take countless hours to farm. Took about 8 hours of farming ore to get the high quality platinum metal for my ultimate magic staff design (yikes!).

      • DRAGON AGE!! Bioware makes the best action and RPG games ever! With their first RPG game that came out in 1998, they left some pretty good vibes. Then in 2003 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was released and the fans went nuts over it! Dragon Age also left some pretty good vibes in the game and left the fans wanting more: with amazing gameplay, an open world concept, romance plots, and just plain blood and glory, Dragon Age was something you could stay hooked on for ages (no pun intended)! Elder Scrolls first made an appearance in 1996, so it is hard to tell as to which Elder Scrolls you're referring to. However, Elder Scrolls focuses a lot more on character development and character advancement than most other elements in the games. As far as I know, Elder Scrolls: Online was the only game that took on companions. Elder Scrolls, in that sense, allowed you to focus completely on the development of your character rather then a whole lot of them. Despite that Elder Scrolls was a completely open-world game, which allowed the player to go where they pleased, and that Elder Scrolls had a wider range of games installed into the series, Dragon Age is the way to go. Dragon Age has the perfect mixture of both plot and gameplay. Sometimes the controls and setting for you and companions could get confusing but once you understood the mechanics you were able to use those settings properly. All three DA games were somehow able to link together and it made for an immersive and intriguing storyline. Dragon Age also has its fair share of the supernatural, taking on Demons, Spirits, Magic, and of course the Fade (which even I still need to figure out how it works....). Because of how much personality that Bioware and EA put into the characters, it was easy to like (or hate) them and it was easy to have your heartstrings pulled (all three games were fully capable of that). Apologies for the somewhat long critique.

      • I play Elder Scrolls for the open world and interactivity. I play Dragon Age for the characters and story.

Do you want a massive world to explore and do whatever? Elder scrolls. Do you want an expansive story that you can get deeply immersed in and control every aspect of it it? Dragon age. I'll go with Dragon age for the amazing story. But I love me some elder scrolls.

        • DA:O > Skyrims anyday. TES = game to ease FPS fans into rpgs. DA = proper rpg.
