Thorn is probably my favorite hand cannon... I don't play PvP, so I don't care about that nonsense, Thorn never bothered me in year 1 and it won't bother me now; crucible kiddies need to grow up and deal, maybe change their tactics instead of expecting bungie to nerf everything or remove guns just because it makes the game more challenging for them.
All exotics should have stayed and remained, it's unacceptable for achievements I've went through hell to earn just to be collecting dust in the vault.

Edited by Brockie: 7/28/2016 2:53:24 PMThere was literally no viable counter to Thorn. It just gave an advantage, nothing was ever found that negated that advantage in the hands of an equally skilled player. Same went for Gjallahorn, it made endgame boring because every encounter just melted without a fight.
-
The horn may have made it boring for you but that is not the case for everyone. I loved melting bosses.
-
Eh, I felt it took away a lot of the risk. Just point and click. By comparison Sleeper Simulant I like, mainly because you're required to expose yourself to danger in order to aim.
-
I do like the sleeper. I probably would choose it more than the gjallerhorn but I still want the choice.
-
Well that's from your perspective, my perspective on both Thorn in crucible and Ghorn are completely different. There are many more thousands of players out there too who all have a different experience. That doesn't mean we can't still benefit from these weapons returning. Regardless, they won't be the same weapons we knew in year 1 which everyone apparently thinks they will be. No one ever wants to come up with a solution, they just want things gone because they had a bad experience one time.

The issue is your enjoyment of Thorn came at the expense of every single other player's enjoyment of every other gun in the game. Against an equally skilled player, with a Thorn, what would you do to negate the advantage they have? Nobody came up with anything, and Thorn was used for a long time.
-
First of all, no, there is no issue, you don't dictate or tell me how I played or play the game. You don't know me and you don't know how I spend my time in Destiny, you can only speak from your own personal experience and my experience is NOT the same. Second, I'm a PvE player, I don't play the crucible, I only enter when I absolutely have to, like the quest to acquire Thorn for example which was incredibly difficult for me, but the reward was worth it. Thirdly, when I did end up playing crucible, I never used Thorn, because I didn't find it the super killing machine other people claimed it to be, but maybe I just wasn't very good with it, but I never had a huge problem with everyone using Thorn either. I at least know that if someone is using a high powered weapon and you're afraid their ttk will be faster than yours, you don't fight them head on... Even then, some people are just better at PvP Regardless of what Thorn was before, it's not the same gun it used to be, and nothing old has been introduced without being tweaked first. So people literally just need to simmer down about the possibility of Thorns return. The only people complaining about it are the people who play mostly PvP, but PvP isn't the only game mode to think about here, PvP is not the only thing that matters, and if anything it matters much less than PvE.

Fair point, I'd be happy for it to return in PvE, but it needs to stay out of PvP for the sake of balance.
