No definition of Guass rounds on the internet states what the content in these large containers fired by the Guass turret are. It can only be milk. All studies show it is milk. Skimmed, fat free, hot pasteurized milk.
Posted by: X4N03R It fires high density, high velocity projectiles similar to an MAC - magnetically accelerated cannon. An asynchronous linear induction motor is used to produce a bipolar magnetic field, launching the 25mm x 130 projectile at just under 13.7km per second. And man is it fun to shoot people with. Gauss beats everything. There is a similar weapon currently in development by the US military that operates under the same magnetic field inducement principles, called a railgun.

Posted by: X4N03R It fires high density, high velocity projectiles similar to an MAC - magnetically accelerated cannon. They just want my marshmallows.
Same here. Even when I'm playing local. Yet I get killed in one shot. Then the only thing I can kill their scorpions with is Lasers. So, what exactly is the Laser powered by?
Cheese
Ah yes, of course. Because like melted cheese would surround a marshmallow, so a Laser would be able to surround a small enough tank. ;-D

Duracell. Spotted, to be precise. :)

OP, I for one am completely convinced by your theory. I tried to find something from halopedia that described the explosive fluid, yet I could't. The guass runs on milk. I'm convinced

I think it fires grenades, propelled by a sonic boom. I remember reading that somewhere.

This explains the "best by" date on the Gauss cannon ammo.

Makes sense. The Gauss fires milk to wash down the marshmallows that the scorpion fires.

The round, i would imagine, is a large 30 mm round with explosive properties. The gauss refers not to the round itself but its method of acceleration from the barrel, i.e. electromagnets [Edited on 03.30.2010 6:49 AM PDT]

It's a Large Metal Slug. In my eyes.

I'm gonna go with milk until proven otherwise.

Air? I think i'm getting fired at right now then!
Posted by: killkrusha it fires air with very high strengh its like the air bazooka just much much better thats what i think
However, since using milk in it's armaments, the UNSC has come across several obstacles in using this technology on the battlefield. Some Marines turned out to be lactose intolerant, and would worry about the calorie content of the milk AP rounds before firing - was it full or skimmed milk? There was also the issue that off duty marines would often take Gauss rounds to drink with their cookies. As such, Gauss technology fell into disuse.

It fires lag and only nubcakes can use it. Go go go

Exactly! the Guass warthog simply shoots overheated flasks of milk. Myth- solved.
