Ode to the beaver

Some will say there's no need for another thread about the recent patch and resulting beaver dilemma. However, I feel the need to express the greater scope of my experience...(since I can't play, I have 5 or 6 hours to kill tonight anyway and I'm current on binge watching my favorite TV eps.) I was with Destiny from the beginning..well not quite. I wasn't in the alpha, but I played the crap out of the beta. My guardians roamed The Cosmodrome when the loot cave yielded infinite engrams, Atheon could still be cheesed, and PvE was actually rewarding. (hell, believe it or not, there was a time when you could rank your faction by selling accumulated resources...go figure) Fast forward=> I quit Destiny shortly after the Dark Below dropped..even though I was already paid up til the House of Wolves. I had gotten frustrated with the grind and the infernal RNG..blah.blah,blah. I only just came back to the game, not for the sake of the game itself, but for fond memories that started to resurface of time well spent with good gaming friends raiding the Vault of Glass until 3am. The Raid wasn't the real draw, it was the tired, half-drunken ball-busting that you can't put a price on. Upon my return to The Tower, I found myself pleased with Destiny's evolution at large during my hiatus. Armor infusion being the most prolific change to be incorporated. Finally there was a counter-balance toward filling the enormous vacuum left by Bungie's gutting of the PvE experience. So I have been back for about three weeks now with no issues whatsoever..finally finding my apprehensions fading like a Taken shadow. I'd even completely forgotten about the Noah's Ark of error codes that were part and parcel of the Travelers Realm. ........until last night. WTF. Same old Bungie. You give me just enough time to let my guard down, my cynicism subside, and most importantly- my wallet open- before you yank the Dreadnaught out from under my Titan like Lucy yanking the pigskin out from under Charlie Brown. I have done extensive online research into router settings and performed all the recommended changes to no avail. Let me reiterate, I had ZERO connection losses during the last 3 weeks since I came back to Destiny. Now I can't leave orbit. Does Bungie ever wonder why people bash this game? I'll tell you why. You make me pay $30 for a "legendary edition" just to get TTK when I'm already paid up for the Dark Below and the House of Wolves. Then I have to drop another $50 to renew my Playstation Plus account to play all the content. As if that's not enough, you lull me into a false sense of security to the point that I fork over another $30 to pre-order The Rise of Iron. (HBO and George R. R. Martin really should get a quasi-licensing fee btw..that promo trailer borders on plagiarism) The additional $100 I blew on silver is my own fault, but it was like make-up sex with a psycho ex-gf. It felt so good you refused to let yourself think about the aftermath you knew was coming. Bungie has sometimes in the past presented a compensatory olive branch to those players significantly disadvantaged by 'technical difficulties' incurred. In lieu of a $210 refund, I'd settle for a beaver eradication...on two fronts: first, fix the actual connection problem and: second, make an actual beaver spawn in random locations that I can melee the crap out of to my heart's content. It wouldn't hurt for it to drop legendary and occasional exotic engrams when I'm punching it into a bloody pulp.
