Fixing Fabian Strategy

So I think we can agree Fabian is underwhelming right? Yeah there will be the handful that says "but I wreck with it!" and that may be true, its still severely outclassed. So what would be a good way to fix it? I mostly made this topic because I saw a guardian (SEVENINE) make an interesting response: make Fabian shoot out of the titan bubble. I instantly thought "oh wow that'd make it from worst to best overnight for a lot of folks, but would it be OP?" Maybe bullets passing through have damage falloff like crazy to compensate? Though its still has fast fire when someone is close for effective imobus/fabian combo inside the bubble? Or how about the shield on the end? Maybe in fire fights taking head-on damage while firing has your damage reduction increased? Really allowing you to push forward to get that quick fire mode activated? Maybe when crouched its a mobile Guerilla Fighter (that actually works) and increases damage? (This latter idea was someones too) How would you fix Fabian aside from trashing/infusing it?

  • [Just to be clear, this isn't an attack on you or your idea] Please no with the bubble idea. The Immobius is already a low stat shotgun that can only be used in one situation.I don't want to bring another weapon, even the Fabian Strategy, an "exotic", down to that level. Having two class exclusive weapons which, unlike the other class weapons, are forced to be used in conjunction with only one subclass would be a living nightmare to all titans throughout destiny. Except for those bubble mains... I don't even know about them...

  • It is an auto rifle, so the range isn't that high to begin with. If they made it allowed to shoot throw bubbles, it would increase the use of defenders and Fabian Strategy in pvp and pve. I don't think this would be broken since it's limited in range and worse case scenario they have to launch a quick patch to nerf some damage if it is op.

  • Hmm most likely more impact some of the perks are rubbish and don't make sense in pvp and in pve it should not be exotic it is to weak to be exotic I do love that weapon

      I don't know if anyone here plays rainbow six siege but make the gun like Blackbeards and be immune to headshots from the front when adsing They take body shots damage of course cause that would be too op any complaints with that?

    • The frontal shield plus firerate increase would absolutely [i][b]SHRED[/b][/i] any shotgunner rushing us, and itln itself would make the gun Exotic. Is this thing really that unusable? I was thinking of zerg rushing gunsmith so I can nab it.

      • It definitely needs some work I'd like to see: 1, ADS puts up a shield for a short time (like juggernaut on striker Titans) 2, precision kills active a force barrier 3, precision kills cause a suppressor explosion (like the suppressor grenade) Any one of these would be great.

        • Current Front Lines perk: When enemies are close, rate of fire increases markedly. Damage decreases by 15%. Instead of actually improving, Fabian simply transforms from a Haakon-type AR to a Doctrine-type AR. Not really better,. just different. Easy fix: Delete the 15% damage loss. Fabian will cease to be "take this piece of crap apart for the exotic shard" and become "this gun is why it's great to be a Titan". Even decreasing the damage dropoff to about 7% would make the gun at least justify an exotic slot.

          • Neat ideas. The only thing is that once that gets a tweak of some sort, people are gonna be asking for the same for Ace and Tlaloc. Tlaloc is the best of the 3 when Warlocks have their supers charged, they should've applied the same to the other 2 in some way.

            • When you get a kill, all rounds that were used to kill the enemy are returned straight to the clip. Also increase to range.

            • I like the bubble idea. But doubt they could make it work the way we want it to. At least not quickly and without breaking the game. ( one change = glitch rockets through a bubble ) So just by looks of it. It looks like something you would use if you wanted to tank something. Or you would rush headlong into a firefight with it out. So, let's keep the increased fire rate. Increase the clip. Then maybe add something crazy or strange. Like Iron Icarus? Much more powerful dmg while in the air?! This way you rush in, jump in the air and start firing. Icarus is a lame perk so let's buff that perk for one gun? I think gorilla fighter perk would be better buffed onto a exotic sniper or scout/pulse. Just thoughts.

            • I'd take both of those, and add it to what we currently have (with obvious improvements to the weapon's stats). For balance reasons, they (the two new effects) would be toned down to only make it a game changer against other high-RoF autos.

            • If it gets buffed, I would like to see the buff fit the name. Not sure how ... A Fabian strategy is used by a weaker force against a stronger force. The goal is to avoid direct battle and instead make continuing war costly and drawn out, with the intention of making a stronger opponent give up. For example, George Washington employed a Fabian strategy against the British.

            • I have another suggestion make Fabain get a weaker version of a juggernaut shield every time you get a kill and that shield last until it is broken and if you get kills without you shield getting damaged it gets stronger and stronger. The shield would be active while holding Fabian and switching weapons while the shield is active will cause you to lose it

              • Take off the damage fall off when the fire rate changes an also add a shield simular to juggernaut while ADS that covers the critical box and allows you to push through crap on the front lines

                I'd like for it to have a crazy amount of grenade cool down when getting kills with the perk active. Also ammo should auto regen when enemies come into close range.

              • I think it's Archetype needs to go to The Dealbreaker normally, and then switch to Haakon's type when they get close. That would put it's terrible Stability and nice range to good reason, as currently it makes no sense. I literally got it, tried it once in Iron Banner a very long time ago, and dismantled it in orbit after the game. It is without question one of the worst exotics in the game. And Immobius? Just like it, but legendary. At least it's sometimes useful though, while Fabian is not. Its nasty on solar burn with bubbles. These weekly strikes'll be a cinch with it.

              • I'm not sure how to fix the main perk and function of the gun, but at the very least it needs to do Void damage. Defenders only have their grenades for Void damage, so this helps them out. Imagine if Fabian Strategy was actually good [i]and[/i] did Void damage... people would totally use it in things like this week's Nightfall!

              • Firing through a bubble might be a bit op but certainly would make interesting stand offs in mayhem rumble between two defenders

              • 1. Up the Mag Size from 40 to something like 48 or so, and increase the Range to Monte Carlo Level 2. Rework the Front Lines Perk so that it Trades Range and Impact for Stability and Fire Rate when an Enemy get close enough. Not many know this, but Reload Speed is also buffed when Front Lines Procs as is. 3. Replace Rifled Barrel with Braced Frame or Whatever the Gain Stability and Lose Reload is called
