Cars are so much more than that, a car is an extension of yourself, a way to express yourself on the road.
They are so much more than just meer machines, they can be your escape from reality. Nothing is better than taking a fun car down back roads, hugging hairpin corners and going foot to floor on the straights, or midnight cruise through your town. Whenever you sit down in the driver seat and start your car, it should make you smile, if not, then your driving the wrong car.
Gearheads are misunderstood, people see us immature or childish just because we like cars, but what's not to like about a great car? A great car doesn't even have to be fast, or brand new, or luxurious, or anything special really. What makes a car great is the feeling you get when you start it, the emotion you feel while driving your favorite road, or doing the drag through your town. Gearheads understand this, and what may seem like an old rust bucket to some, that rust bucket provides that person with an escape, a way to enjoy something we all do almost everyday. I guarantee everyone has at least one good memory linked to a car.
It's what non-car people don't get. They see all cars as a ton-and-a-half, wires, glass, metal, and rubber, that's all they see. People like you or I know, we have an unshakable belief that cars are human entities, you can develop a relationship with a car. That's just what non-car people don't get.

TL;DR: Cars are much more than transportation.

I love my 2007 Audi A4 2.0t FSI Quattro cabriolet, but I can't wait till I get my tesla model 3! That thing will be sweet

Agreed. Just ask that guy in Nice, France.

Cars are transportation. Just that. You may consider it to be something else, but that's you dressing it up.

#carlivesmatter #trucklivesmatter They are feeling opressed

Car • (kahr) • noun A form of personal wheeled ground conveyance only to be used when motorcycle travel is unavailable or infeasible. ex; My S1000RR is in for valve adjustment, so I took the car to work.

Cars are made to kill people ban cars

Car people are weird.

I just want an 85 iroc z...

Amen, brother! Both of my vehicles are a joy to drive. 2000 formula firebird ws6 and a 69 chevy c20 that I have converted over to a c10.

Depends on the person. Personally, I can afford to drive a pretty nice car if I choose. But I'm still rocking my '05 Scion Tc with dents all over it and rips in the leather seats because to me.. a car is exactly that. Just something to get me where I want to go. I'll drive it until I have to take the poor thing out back and shoot it.

I don't mind people having a personal connection with their cars (or with cars in general). I just don't get it. A car, to me, is nothing more than a method of transportation. It makes no sense to waste money on an expensive gas guzzler just because it looks cool and chicks like it. But hey... Like I said, I don't mind other people doing it

Nothing like a dodge f150 SS

Edited by Ungod: 7/25/2016 4:46:47 PMI can definitely relate. Most people my age are having children. I just keep buying more cars! Here is what's in my current stable. http://m.imgur.com/a/6hYXu I'm in the process of restoring my Z and the vette I'm getting ready to sell because I just bought a challenger to replace her. http://m.imgur.com/a/xUwat

I feel this way too, but don't expect everyone to have that kind of connection with their car(s). Like my parents, for example. A car to them is just easy transportation and the drive is just an action to go places. The end location is what they look forward to. And that is fine. My cars mainly represent freedom to me. Times when I need to clear my mind I go far a drive. It gives me peace, rowing through the gears, focusing on the drive and gaining a temporary escape from obligations, problems, and fears. Maintaining them gives a sense of pride that I keep them on the road, and the methodical repetition of cleaning also provides an escape. I love my two cars. I have a 93 Miata and a 05 Outback XT. Thank you for your post. Sorry for the novel!

Edited by Pesky Moth: 7/26/2016 2:56:00 PMThe faster you go, the less reaction time you have. Fact. It doesn't matter how good you are at driving, if you are going faster than you should, than you are putting others in harms way just for kicks and for that I don't respect your existence, since clearly you don't respect mine.

Woman simply do not understand the bond between man and car
Inb4triggeredfeminists
Because there's a difference between owning a 2019 Ferrari Dankus42069000, and own a 97' Civic that has had its check engine light on since the day your older brother first got it.

Cars. Are. The. Best.

This guy's right! I'm going to use my car to run over some communists because of this post! 'Merica

Every hobby ever suffers the same problem. Personally, I enjoy cosplay, and conventions. But of course, nobody gets that who isn't a part of that scene. Cars, I assume, are the same way.

Edited by Ophorra: 7/26/2016 4:02:18 AMPhreshBrotha put it best. No one takes pride in a junker, so yeah.

Edited by AlexanderSolomon: 7/26/2016 3:00:48 AMAgreed. Cars are status symbols. A nice car is like a large hoard of gold or vast amounts of territory for the middle class.

Yes nothing like showing off my big dick with my car :)

In related news, my car is definitely just a mobile ipod machine that transports me.

Its just a fúćking piece of metal on wheels that takes me to my job. Thats it
