Share Your Worst RNG Story
I have opened 70 crucible packages and none of them had a longbow. Just 6 guns I instantly dismantled.

not sure if this counts but I recently got a friend of mine into destiny and on his first day of playing we were doing a low level POE and he got the jellyhorn. it's hard to look at him

Trying to get to get leg armor to drop in the Vault of Glass to reach LL 30, got it the week before the cap was increased. Couldn't find a Swordbreaker or a Praedyth's Timepiece from their respective raids, got them inbetween House of Wolves and Taken King. Completed a the King's Fall raid on hard. Got moldering shards for my normal and hard drops with the challenge mode only dropping gear at 320. Played every Iron Banner in year 2, still no year 2 ship when playing after rank 5. Didn't get a FWC ship until rank 79, then packages were adjusted for them to be more common. Want New Monarchy to drop armor from packages, drops weapons. Want the Vanguard and Crucible to drop weapons, they drop armor. My whole Destiny experience is basically RNGesus trolling me.

I remember back when engrams were bullsh*t, and I refused to so the loot cave, so Legendary Engrams were all but worthless. So, my story is all of the beginning of year 1 giving green drops.

Spent most of 2014 / 2015 looking for the Gjallarhorn - resolved by buying it from Xur. Same weekend - had a legendary engram turn into the Gjallarhorn

I went to the store to get RNGs one time, but they were all out so I got apples instead.

1 ReplyThe fact that I can't Crux! I have my legendary Eidion Ally ready to become the exotic Necrocasm. But Crota just won't give me his Crux. I've even heard that people have Crux but no Husk of the Pit. I had 3 of those! 3! I mean sure, I can use Eidion and Gjally at the same time. But I want to see my opponents in the crucible explode in a blue explosion with a screech when I shoot their head! Eidion can't do that! She just sits in my character's warm mits and looks pretty! At least she's prettier than the Fabian Strategy. Am I right? RIGHT?!?

2 RepliesThis is the winner. Back in Year 1, Gjallarhorn was all the craze. I have been playing since vanilla and still haven't gotten one yet. Vault of Glass, Crota, Nightfall, Prison, nothing. Some raid groups wouldn't accept me because I didn't have it. It went on like this for months. Then the Ghorn nerf got announced. I was both happy and sad, happy because the gun that ruined getting into raid teams wouldn't be a problem like that anymore and sad because I would probably never use it in its prime. [i]But wait, what about when Xur sold it again?[/i] you say. I'm getting to that. Eventually, my old 360 kicked the bucket and red ringed. I was down a console, but I told myself I would upgrade when TTK cane out as I didn't have the funds atm. The NEXT DAY, that bastard Xur sold Gjallarhorn to all the good little boys and girls. I got an Xbox One and Destiny on the day that Taken King launched. By then, Ghorn was obsolete. Xur sold heavy legacy engrams first week. It was the only exotic heavy I didn't have so I got it like that. To this day, I still do Crota to try to get one that isn't bought from Xur. Still haven't got one yet.

Ive spent every day of TTK ranking up crucible for a Party Crasher and I still dont have one. I have Longbows out the wazoo and I'll never use them. FML

Running Crota's End for Flawless Raider and friend joins the party and we were at Crota LITERALLY on the last sword run, he joins before we could tell him not to. So this is when everyone wanted Red Death for health regeneration for Crota. So he's flying into the mission still at the ship loading screen.. we kill Crota then it says, "His Name" found Red Death. He didn't even participate.

I literally can not get exotic armour to drop for my Warlock or Titan. Every piece I have was a drop on my Hunter or a purchase from Xur. Don't get me wrong, I get exotic armour drops on my Warlock and Titan but they'll always be for my Hunter. Chrishoppybot
