Not every person uses a lag switch, maybe they have bad connection? Lol
It's so idiotic that the majority of people call LAGSWITCH when they see a REDBAR.
99.9% of redbars is bad connection.
Stop being so idiotic.
-
Yeah I'm with this guy, not everyone is a lag switcher.
-
Red bar = shit connection = reported for bad connection.
-
I get green bars even when I use my phone as wifi hotspot and I use t mobile which sucks lol
-
Well try to look at it from the perspective of somone who has ok internet. you see a guy running around with a red bar all game and next match while in orbit he miraculously has better internet then you. I know from experience if somone has shit connection they are always redbar my cousin has dsl or some shit and even in orbit he has a redbar.
-
So salty in here
-
Then I hope they banned every Red Bar.

24 RepliesEdited by Requiem: 7/27/2016 6:47:06 AMWhen you have a bad connection, don't play. Do you know how much we suffer because of your incompetence and poor pockets. Seriously have the courtesy to stay out of crucibles. Especially events like Iron Banner. You're so annoying. Holy shit. I'm pissed off just thinking about it. You ruined Trials. Sweet Jesus!!!!
-
2 RepliesIts just the availability heuristic. 100% of lagswitchers are red bar. Its similar to the concept of all muslims being terrorists most of the time a terrorism is reported the culprit is muslim

1 ReplyMy answer is.... Bad conection-bottom leeader board. Laggswitch-top leeaderboard. When I play at my cousins and he has poor internet I end up getting killed instantly. Laggswitchers think they smart. IN iron banner I've made few clips. Laggswitchers we're usually in a party. When I was about to kill any of them they we're purely teleporting and when I was bout to die in same situation they we're not teleporting. So a laggswitchers Will take damage but only to a point. Bad connection will note take damage at all but he is not able to do damage right? When ur in iron banner/trials just record them and send ur clip to bungie and they'll be banned believe me. All their pvp history will be deleted and all their weapons shaders gear from trials will be deleted by bungie so when u think there is a laggswitchers look for him on map all times and get into shootouts again and again and record it in same time and I'll get their asses banned. I've done it worth it. Get rid of dushbags. :)

Edited by Young_King_Kush: 7/28/2016 12:07:56 AMI don't call lag switch, but I will report you for bad connection if I go to shoot you and you Captain-blink out of the way lol. Get that ol McDonald's ass WiFi outta here son

2 RepliesIt's a psych thing. It's far more palatable for someone to think a bad situation is someone else's fault. Rather than the system in general is broken or that maybe they are the one constant leading to repeated issues. That's why conspiracy theories usually exist.
-
Still equally as bad.
-
Funny how some red bars only red bar when they get into trouble, then go back to green. I have seen it twice; so you are probably right, but some forever reds seem to get real advantage.

1 ReplyI call it as i see it, in all generality you can differentiate bad connection and lag switch. Bad connections act a certian way such as you messing shots by a fraction or unintelligent movements, but bad connections always have low over all score because their connection However with a lag switch you can see major warping disappearing and frozen characters who act like an ice cube that shoot you facing backwards, in generality lag switching is seen as intelligent movements done to gain the upper hand Sure there is minor glitching on just a bad connection but when your lag switching you can see major glitching and overall crazy stuff happening Obviously you have the internet and youtube and google look up lag switch, and you will see the craziness that is lag switching So in my opinion educate yourself, and if you just have a bad connection look up on the net how to port foward and open the right ports find a way not to red bar and you will not be accused but furthermore everyone should educate themselves to know the difference and to report lag switchers because all of you lag switching numb nuts ruin the game I suck at pve but i dont switch, you know what i do? I Git Gud, so Git Gud too Scrubs, p.s. lag switchers are the Scrubs of every game why? Because lag switching is used to gain advantages blamminh Scrubs Git Gud

1 ReplyIve stopped reporting people since Ive gotten red bars to. Its not necessarily the players shitty internet. Its bungies bad p2p implementation.
-
11 RepliesThe problem is... Everyone redbars from time to time, but they report everyone else. Essentially, everyone is reporting everyone for redbars. No matter how good your internet connection is, P2P can cause you to redbar if your connection to the host is poor.
-
The same reason everyone says they were hacked when in reality they freely gave away the information because people are stupid
-
Why do you think it's 99% that isn't. You can buy a lagswitch on eBay for 30$. With p2p anyone can make a lobby and grab host. Once they have host they can go utilize it to its full potential. Lots of people lag switch on here.
-
When i see redbar i think someone borrowing a neighbors wifi or using their phone as a hot spot
-
Same reason many people see people from indian/pakistan descent and think 'terrorist'. The more stories we hear of a certain behaviour associated with a certain aspect skin colour/connection indicator, the more we assume its the norm. Its a connection-based form of racism. #redbarsmatter

Reminds me of the heady days of Soldier of Fortune 2, Multiplayer. Back in the days when Dial Up Modems ran at 33.5KB and only posh friends could afford 64KB or 128KB single or dual ISDN lines. When the first 0.5MB lines appeared, a company called Jolt actually hosted a Public Server for Modem/Dial Up Only. Worked a treat. Us "lesser connection unsung heroes" were the bane of the new breed of connections.
-
4 bars in COD... red bar in destiny...
-
Also, people don't realize that connection speeds mean very little in P2P games. You can have good internet, and connect with someone halfway around the world with better internet, but if the latency (ping) between you and said person is bad, then your overall connection will suffer.
-
I would appreciate Bungie fixing their crappy netcode. I've played The Division and Overwatch plenty without any issues, yet I have a 50/50 chance of red bar and zoo animal error codes with Destiny. Meanwhile speedtests during those same times show low latency and plenty of upload/download bandwidth. In fact, I usually give up and play another online game (with no issues) whenever this happens. I'm sure this isn't the case with everyone, but probably a large number of people.

Connection matchmaking would be nice

1 ReplyTotally true and accurate point. So is my point - I don't report until a kill gets connectapunk'd - then I report, for cheating or bad connection, or both - depending on the magnitude of my butthurtedness.
