You know how we get these sterling packages each week...
What if there was a item, that was provided upon reset, each week, that allowed you to access a window where you could trade 1 item with another player, once per character.
There are obviously already things that open extra sub-windows, like the quest for Sleeper Simulant, which had you do those password switches, to reveal the next code.
Activating the item, would bring up the window, and you simply select someone on your roster, and add in your offer.
If it is accepted, your item gets sent to their postmaster, and your item is used.
If you are looking to trade, simply find someone that has something you want, and trade them the item that they want.
It could even be equipped in a slot specifically for trades.
Bringing back the Halo thing that everyone loved about Nightfalls, this could produce an Aura if you have a trade that you are offering. By inspecting your character, and clicking that weapon, you can initiate a trade.
Obviously something like this, would be VERY limited, and walking around with the TRADE AURA, would get obnoxious, if you are looking for a specific weapon... so how about instead once you have done your trade for the week, you get the aura.
This would let people know to leave you alone.
I think I covered most of the bases.
Terms of Exchange:
-2 Mutual players must activate their token after accepting a trade request. (requests can be toggled off)
-1 Token of exchange is distributed per PSN/Gamertag upon reset.
- Items that are locked cannot be traded
- Items that are equipped cannot be traded
- Once the exchange has completed, items are sent to the postmaster of the appropriate receiving party
- Items cannot be sent as gifts, mutual exchange must be made.
- Exchange must be made in game
- Inspection occurs in menu during exchange
- Items for Exchange must not exceed the player's current Light level.
- Consumable items may only be traded in full stacks (eg. 200 Relic Iron)
- To prevent changing of item location with an external App, adding an item to the Exchange, removes it from your player inventory inventory. (Temporarily placed in Postmaster inventory)
- Completing the exchange requires both players to agree.
- Limit of one placeholder may be used per party for exchange. (this means only 1 stack of heavy ammo can be exchanged, not ALL of your heavy ammo.)
- Items that cannot be transferred via app, are not eligible for exchange.

If trading were in the game, people would be asking for a paypal payment for items. Bungie probably doesn't want that. It would also reduce the grind. Bungie definitely doesn't want that.

6 RepliesWould create a bad economy, people would be selling "god rolls" for real money. There would be no initiative for some to actually play the game. ~TheGreatNike
-
3 RepliesTrading would make playing the game pointless.
-
3 RepliesIt's funny when somebody tells you how "great" their idea is. Of course you think it's great. You should leave that up to public opinion, though.

They just need to make exotics be able to roll, raise the currency caps, and flat-out add more legendaries and the game could support trading without problems.
-
5 RepliesIf anything, I'd say trading should be for Exotics. They all have cemented rolls and cannot change. All you need is just 1 dude with an absolute god legendary, and then through some kind of duplication glitch, every single person has the exact same god weapon. Or he could dupe em and charge people real money for em. (Which some may even do for exotics) Here you go. If they even do implement trading, have it be something on people within a clan can do. Make Trading a benefit of being in a clan. I remember from the Alpha, they said that being in a clan was suppose to be rewarding. They hinted at exclusive clan emblems, shaders and even events in PvP for clans to win cool cosmetics... Haven't seen those yet, but I have hopes.

2 RepliesThe idea of trading is good but destiny is not that type of game. If there was a way you can build weapons and armor and you couldn't infuse when lvling up. Then trading would be a thing. Take a look at eso and a realm reborn you could get a sick looking axe with good perks and 5 lvl later dump it for a normal one that's stronger. If you want trading tell bungie to go back to yr one lvling

1 ReplyTrading leads to RMT. It's what's gonna happen to Pokemon Go. People are gonna get beat up for cell phones now like they did over Pokemon cards.
-
21 RepliesTrading ruins the point of the game. The whole game is about grinding for the item you want. If you can just get it from someone else it ruins the hunt and the enjoyment. It could potentiality take pve out of equation for some. It's a good trading premise, but I simply belive Destiny is just not the game for it.

7 RepliesHow to put trading into the game
dont
-
7 RepliesNo this opens up to purchasing
-
6 RepliesBad idea since it involves trading, sorry dear it's not in the game for a reason
-
-
1 ReplyBungie would have to add a new set of items that were unique each one different none the same. Because otherwise there's not much to trade with.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Kiwisan: 7/24/2016 4:26:20 PMSorry to burst your bubble but.. People would start selling "God Rolls" for real money by using things such as PayPal, EBay, or DestinyLotto.com
Disclaimer: This comment wasn't sponsored by DestinyLotto.com

Downvote
Will never happen

4 RepliesThank you Elitists for killing this topic, just 30 minutes into its life. And just like that, something that would have benefited you and everyone else, has died.
-
9 RepliesId say yes,but the other person would have to trade something of equal quality such as an exotic for an exotic. There are some weapons that just won't drop for me at all no matter how hard I grind -giggity- and I'm not alone. So I'd like this. But also restrict it so you cannot trade quest exotics (Sleeper,Swords,Boolean) ^^
-
7 RepliesNo this will cause people to try and pay for adept/God roll weapons, and that would ruin this game
-
Good idea man
-
1 ReplyNo. Worst thing to happen in destiny. Ruin the fun for us who have 3 characters and grind tf outta stuff to get what we want. Before you come at me with the "you're just mad cuz you can't get max light" etc etc... That's not it. You think raiding is hard now with high levels? Just imagine a 335 squeaker has no -blam!-ing idea what he's doing just cuz he could trade his low light with someone of his friends. No. That dosent sound good. There is no where NEAR enough RNG to have trading. It needs to be like halo with all the variants. Conclusion: this is a horrible idea, and you should feel bad for suggesting it.

-
We don't need trading.
-
9 RepliesI'm sorry but no. How would you feel if you were in a raid or fireteam with a bunch of people who had too tier gear because one of their friends traded it to them for next to nothing? If you think raiding is bad now... oh boy that would just ruin also of things man, just saying

4 RepliesHow about no!
