Xur primary legacy engram?
Ok so I know how the legacy engrams work... That being said, the only primary I'm interested in that is possible to get through this method is the last word. The others I either already have or don't want. The engram costs 31 sc and I have over 200 sc. There are 11 primary possibilities for this method so I have a 1 in 11 shot of getting the last word. My question is, Is it worth it to try or is it a waste of sc because of the bad odds?
Edit: also considering holding on to my sc since September update is around the corner and I'm assuming there will be plenty of new items to obtain through Xur/sc trade.
Update: went for broke... Spent all my strange coins and didn't get a last word... Fml! On the plus side I didn't get a single duplicate

3 RepliesBuy 1 and decrypt. You will be surprised that it is a year 1 exotic that you do not currently have. Go back and purchase a 2nd legacy engram. You will again be surprised that it is one you do not currently have. Continue until you get TLW.

There's a good chance you get what you don't already have from the legacy engrams. I got everything i could get one after the other before including TLW.

Read this post right before I started playing about 30 mins ago. Started playing,I was just patrolling mars for daily bounties and taken arrived used a 3oC for dark zealot dropped an exotic and turned into Last Word lulz

Note that they will decode to items you don't already have unlocked. So you only have a 1 in 11 if you don't have any of the Y1 weapons. Check the Weapon Kiosk to see which Y1 exotics you have unlocked. Also note this does not include Nechrochasm.

12 RepliesIf you've got a number of other Y1 primaries, that will improve your odds. The Legacy engrams are heavily weighted to decode as something that you don't already have.

5 RepliesJUST DO IT! In all seriousness, you can earn a lot of Strange Coins pretty fast. Plus Legacy Engrams are geared towards giving you an exotic you do not own yet (no guarantees though). I would give it a shot.
