I've always viewed it like this: it all depends on the game mode you are playing and, more importantly, whether or not you personally care about it. For "lone wolf" (Rumble) type games, it matters to have a high k/d because it shows how well you can handle yourself when you have no allies available to get you out of a sticky situation. Because only one person can win, win percentage isn't as important though a high combination of both shows is indicative of an above average player. For team -based elimination (Trials of Osiris) type /games and "kill 'em all" (Skirmish/Clash/Doubles) type games, k/d still matters but matters less, and win percentage becomes important. A low k/d coupled with a low win percentage means on average you may be hurting your team more than helping. For objective based team games (Control/Salvage), k/d isn't as important as a combination of win percentage and objectives complete. A high win percentage and a high per-game objective completion percentage shows that you are willing to sacrifice yourself for the team. Based on my analysis, I am a well below average player. But I'm getting better. This is just my opinion.

1 ReplyK/D isn't always everything. If you want to get over 1.0, then just keep playing and improving however you can.
-
1 ReplyKD isn't really indicative of skill and can be misleading. you have a recent match where you ended up with a 3.0 k/d ratio but you went 6-2. that's isn't all too helpful in the grand scheme of things. no knock on you, just an example. what matters is wether or not you had a good time :) my main character's k/d is less than yours ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

6 RepliesA .95 KD isn't the best but it doesn't mean you're a bad player. It just means that you don't focus on padding your KD. Maybe you don't snipe at all so you get more kills on average bit a lower KD? Or maybe you only play objective based gametypes where you'll naturally get a lower KD if you're facing a group of KD padders. It depends more on a lot of other things. KD is an indicator of skill but not the whole picture. You can have a KD of 10 and only ever played one game where you killed 10 people without dying.

If you are breaking a 0.50 kd on Bungies American Online servers. You are doing amazing
-
It doesn't matter as long as your having fun
-
Don't worry about stats for this game. With all of the OP and crazy shite going on, bad players can get amazing stats by playing like an ass. Just go forth and have fun.
-
If you're having fun then who gives a -blam!-
-
Like other people have said, the most important thing is that you are enjoying yourself when you play and not worrying about your stats. But if you are worried that you might be letting your team down with a 0.95 kd, please be assured that you are not. Like everyone else, you'll play well in some games and score good points, and you'll play badly in others and score few. 0.95 is very solid as an average.

You're better than me, but not by much - and that's cause enough to not get too comfortable 😇

1 ReplyBetter than me!

Sorry but no. A good KD is a 1.0 KD or higher
-
If you are less than 1 it means you are killed more often than actually killing.
-
No. That essentially means you ALMOST get 1 kill before you die Lol. By definition must be below average?
-
No ~raidxproluke

I would say, don't worry about the stats. Play the game while you still enjoy playing it

I have a .7 - .8 KD, and I have all crucible weapons (thorn: earned & chaperone) as well as flawless 20+. I stopped playing trials in yr 2 when I got Ddosed and my modem fried. Half of the time I run around trying to troll people in crucible. But when I play I play. K/d is whatever but there are people that live by it.

Kd should not equate to self worth. It will not make you a better person. You will not earn money from it. It's a game. If you spent the same time educating yourself, you just might end up on mars. You're my favorite. Learn more, bathe more, dry off more. Turd Ferguson.

Does it really matter? If you're having fun them who cares.
-
Everyone gets a participation award in today's world.. So it's a great kd op... You're special and deserve recognition for it. Keep up the awesome work.

Edited by Advance: 7/22/2016 10:41:25 AMDepends on your loadout. I abuse the meta , but I'm pretty average :p
-
Do YOU think it's good? That's all that matters, who cares what everyone else thinks of your K/D.
-
-
I think that's about what mine is. I wouldn't say it's good, nor bad. Slightly below average but not by much. You could round up and say your a scratch player basically.
-
Average. But a lof things that go into K/D aren't really under your control....especially if you play a lot of 6v6. All it takes in a 6v6 is to have couple of really bad team mates...and you'll spend the entire match dodging supers. I had one IB Clash match that was do bad last month, I died FIVE times in a row to supers in the same match. ...and it was because two weak randoms were feeding their team kills.
