I saw a poll saying that the reason majority of people are voting for trump is so Hillary doesn't win & the reason majority of people are voting for Hillary is so trump doesn't win. Truth is that if anyone honestly thinks either of these two are right to be president they're equally stupid. People need to realize that they are not the only choices we have. We have a chance to elect someone else that may not be perfect, but they're better than these 2. I bet most people don't even know any of these candidates policies because they don't do any research for themselves. Or that there are other candidates beside these two. People base their information on what the media & what others say & the media doesn't even show the other options we have. The fact that these are the only candidates that are mentioned is sad. Also threads & posts like these are useless. Instead of making threads telling people not to vote for Hillary or trump because of 'x' reason, why not make a thread on a candidate people should vote for. Since social media is how people get their info, we should be showing people the other choices they have. I think that would be more productive because it shows people another option rather than things they heard 1 million times. Repeating yourselves isn't going to change people's mind because clearly they're voting based on who will beat the candidate they don't like out of the only 2 choices that they think there are

  • It's gotta be a two fold approach. To get people to even consider a third party they must be shown that third party candidates have decent platforms, and that the major party candidates are complete garbage.

  • Even though Gary Johnson isn't perfect, I still think her better than Hillary & trump. I've been talking to people about him

  • Conservative Christian friend of mine has been backing Cruz and hating on Trump in recent comments on FB. I asked who she's voting for, and she's going Trump. Better than Clinton, apparently, and there's not a chance for a third candidate. The problem with democracy is that our own choices feel ineffectual, it's only when a lot of people decide to surprise the system that any effect is felt.

  • Well I don't disagree with her, trump to me is better than Hillary. Don't get me wrong, I hate him, but I really don't trust Hillary & dislike her way more. Gary has a chance, but like I said, people have to tell others why he's a good candidate rather than keep talking about Hillary & trump

If you can't see that then you're a misinformed ignorant sheeple who loves corrupt liars. No proof should even need to be given.
Until we adopt an alternative voting system and ditch First Past the Post, yes, we are limited to voting for the lesser of two evils, or making a strategic vote. There is no candidate that represents my views. The closest was Sanders, but he's not an option anymore.

  • We'll with that attitude things won't change. Although I don't like everything about Gary Johnson, i've been convincing more and more people to vote for him. He said he's willing to compromise on both Democrat & republic ideals. Sure he's a little weird, but I don't wanna vote for Hillary or trump. I don't think a candidate is ever going to be 100% what you like, but I'm done with this voting for Democrat or Republican

  • It's more of an argument on who they want on the Supreme Court. It comes down to choosing which they feel is the lesser of two evils.

  • There is no lesser evil between these two, they're both so bad. The problem with these posts or arguments is for one thing you find bad about one, you find something bad about the other. Then it creates this useless back & forth. We don't have to vote for these 2 & if people would just make posts on good candidates rather than pointing out bad on horrible ones, we wouldn't have to choose between these 2. They're the only ones getting publicity, it's not a good thing

  • One of those two is going to be in the White House. That's a fact. Right now none of those other arguments matter. The media has an enormous influence on who gets attention. You can pick one. Or you can do nothing which simply shrinks the voting pool and gives more power to the people who do vote. That's the only choice you have right now. If you want to work on trying to get recognition for the Green Party or other good people you can do that but it's not going to be this election

We have about 3 to 4 months to post about other candidates, however no one wants to. I've been posting a ton about it on my social media & got others to start doing the same. I don't want to be forced to vote trump just so Hillary doesn't win, though if I have no choice, I will. This is hardly a choice of voting, it's more like being forced to vote for someone you don't like. It's not right. I really hope next election people stop doing stuff like this & post about good candidates

  • Politics is a shitty game. Hopefully something will soon make it better, even if a little. Problem is, proportional representation would be a mess. There'd be way too many arguments and nothing would actually get done. So is that better than a party 30-40% voted for steering the country its way? Society is a paradoxical construct. How should the leaders represent the people? How should the few control the many? Libertarians might argue don't. Fiscal and sociological experts might say people's lives will be ruined otherwise. I say let's all go be space pirates.

  • Wouldn't really say it's politics, it's more people being lazy & arguing about who's more right. "Hillary is bad because 'x', no trump is bad because 'x'!" People need to do something productive & talk about people they like & why. Convince people why this person is good. That seems more productive to me. & being a space pirate sounds pretty fun.

  • Indeed. It must be that old evolutionary instinct of survival bleeding into the (mis)information age: run from the bad news. Something shitty about somewhere (or someone, in this case) and you're gonna wanna keep your distance. Alarmist news will always grab people more than feelgood positivity. A huge shame in this context. Who knows? Maybe we can change that. Though even in something as trivial as gaming news, I'll gobble up The Division doing badly over Crash Remastered profits going to charity. :/
