I've played the old DOOMS back in the day on the computer but was wondering if this is worth grabbing??

Edited by GTLargo21: 7/22/2016 6:29:45 AMIMO..... Hell. Yes. The campaign is amazing and really grabs some of the feel of the old DOOM games...... if they were hopped up on a cocktail of speed, acid and some undisclosed chemical agent with a dash of steroids. Huge maps, keys and plenty of demons... Hope you aren't that used to radar and have a good pair of headphones. The multiplayer isn't great, but the hate it's received is over-exaggerated because it's not that bad at all. No regenerating health so you need to stay on the move for health, armor, ammo... and the occasional power-up. Again, no radar. Snap-Map..... I haven't explored yet, because I'm still playing through the campaign. Remember....
Rip n' Tear.
The campaign is awesome and will take a while to complete if you're a collector.

I wasted my money on it
best waste of money ever
Edited by Edgecutt: 7/22/2016 6:18:25 AMYes. The game is so -blam!-ing fun. It's the first game, since probably Skyrim, that I just couldn't stop playing. I 100% the game and I am desperately waiting for more story DLC. I didn't really play the MP, but snapmap and especially the campaign, are worth the buy.
RIP AND TEAR!
Is good game. Hoping for a Single Player Expansion from ID one day. Multiplayer is a bit butts but the rest is a very good game with a few flaws only visible if you whip out the monocular.

If you like old school, twitch shooters then yes.

People who don't have it will tell you no, because in essence, it sounds like a hollow game from the outside. But you play it once, and you'll get the taste. The taste for demon blood. It'll start out with you brutalizing every little pleb you come across, tearing them apart with your bare hands. Then you'll be chainsawing through creatures you never even dreamed of facing, drowning yourself in it. In demon blood. Kill 'em all.

If you're expecting a game similar to the old Doom games, then you will be disappointed. Otherwise, this game is amazingly fun.

Double yes

The nostalgia wears off quickly and while the finishers are cool it's a bit annoying having to do them all the time. I just want to shoot things dead. The snap map is good. If you're looking for a shooter that a bit different then you may like it. Personally, I got bored. It's no bulletstorm.

Don't buy it for the multiplayer.
-
Yep. It's damn good fun.
-
snap map alone is worth the price of admission. goty!!
-
Hell yes! It's easily the most fun FPS I've played in years.
-
If you want to play the campaign just rent it. It will take you 2-3 days to finish it. I didn't care a lot for the mp so I'm glad I didn't by it

So much fun. Haven't played it in a while but I don't regret that purchase at all.

Yeah. It's pretty fantastic. The campaign is adrenaline-rushed badassery, and the multiplayer is really enjoyable.
