First time I've ever gotten this frustrated in IB
Normally I'm not one to complain that much, especially in Iron Banner. I usually love it, despite the obvious issues it has every single time it comes up.
But holy shit, I have never actually gotten so frustrated in one day that I just completely stopped playing. Losing four straight games by well over 12,000 points each time is unbelievable. The matchmaking is complete shit, and shotgun people are having a -blam!-ing party running through entire teams. Even shoulder charge has become an issue to me for the first time. And the amount of red bars and leg is more than usual, at least for me.
Maybe I just had a really long string of bad luck, but I've seen others complaining about the same thing.

I should add, I agree shotguns are supposed to be a weapon that kills easy at close range. My complaint is I'm getting killed by one shot at a pretty decent distance and it usually isn't even a crit. That's what irritates me. If you outplay me and can get close enough that a shotgun blast hits me directly in the face, congrats you earned that.

For me, anyway, crucible feels like what the NBA game has evolved into. I read an article (maybe a couple years ago) about how James Harden exemplified the new NBA model of efficiency. Since the mid-range game was no longer the most efficient way to score (three-pointers might have a lower percentage made- but you get that extra point, and shots close to the rim are higher percentage, so the mid-range jumper metrically was the poor choice), Harden was the most efficient scorer because he took almost no mid-range shots; he either took threes or drove to the basket. With the nerf to the Doctrine archetype, I lost my mid-range game. Now it's all about the scout to counter snipers, and then the shotgun for close encounters; in the mid-range I feel vulnerable, so I'm either looking to scout from a distance, or close the gap and shotgun. With the nerfs to auto rifles, and before that pulses and handcannons, I don't have a reliable mid-range weapon. Anyway, I just thought the comparison was interesting.

I agree but my biggest issue is the after game drops seem to be less. I have lost a ton more then won and am half way through rank 3. I have seen 3 maybe 4 purples drop. Idk if they kinda changed thing back to the old way, but its crazy with the amout of games i have played

The steps my teammates take in a game of IB 1. Charge the enemy without a plan 2. Die 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the enemy finally gives up from pity.

2 RepliesI've been doing it on my striker with amazing success im talking 6.67 kd from running around the map shoulder charging everyone. My suggestion to stop getting slaughtered is to play striker. Sniping is also useless in this Ib if you want to get above 20 kills consistently I would stay away from it.

Maybe y'all should play with me sometime. I don't have shotgun issues. I haven't seen many shoulder charges. I have shoulder charged a bit, but I didn't abuse it. I used it out of necessity. In most of my matches, I didn't notice a problem with shotguns. Either, A) I have gotten lucky B) I am not paying close attention to if a Titan is using SC C) I kill most Titans closing in

Yeah ive getting so much hate for saying similar stuff, if u get close enough to shotgun me that's fine. If u creep and wall camp sure it's annoying but manageable but this IB the shoulder charge is suddenly an issue where it wasn't b4. I think this is direct result of people maximising now the obvious advantages of the Titan not being balanced when the other class were nerf'd. If you Havnt been toasted by the shotgun first off and the charge hasn't killed you don't worry they will have a melee to finish the job. Mayb even a havoc fist just to put the knife in.

On Pantheon, in the upper alley/sniper lane, a Hunter in the center (where the special ammo spawns) took me out - full shields - as I came round the corner from A zone, Universal Remote, one shot. This bloody lag! On Dungeons, near A zone, I shot an enemy Titan as she ran away from me. My bullets were mallow, doing no damage and, as I kept shooting her running away, she shoulder-charged me in the back. Have we imported holo-images from Reach? It does make for interesting games...

I don't normally complain about the Crucible much, but this Iron Banner - albeit just one day, has been a grease fest of sweat. First four matches last night were joined in progress already on a losing side. The lag was tolerable even though everyone would be green bars. I was somehow two-shotting people with the Multi-tool. Or being killed from around corners. I still have fun, despite the issues, but holy cow yesterday was greeeeeasey.

I know your pain, though I got these guys in vertigo, they partied up and kept us at B the ENTIRE MATCH, they had a guy running jade and shotgun on the portal next to the 2 zones, we somehow -blam!-ing won but it was the sweatiest time of my life

I've had a good experience so far, personally. Been melting with my fusion rifle, and of course I use invis smoke pellets. Fckers never know what hit em.

Lol. So many tears on this thread. I've been having a blast this IB. Lag is no worse than any other IB. Maybe.... just maybe.... it's not the game, or the servers, or lag switchers. Maybe it's just you/your team are not very good.

Lag was insane last night, even better when you back out to try find a better connection and your fireteam joins a game where everyone's quit on the losing team and your down by 9000 points or whatever and 5secs later the mercy rule comes down. So. Much. Fun.
