Like seriously? We are undead super powerful warriors of light that are able to break fallen houses, defeat time traveling robots that can simulate an entire universe in their core, and traverse and kill god like beings in the ascendant realm. We are able to create infinite grenades, although with cooldowns, imbue our hands and knifes with light to cause special affects, harness the light to unleash devastating (or lifesaving) supers; and jump indefinitely. But running? Oh nope, we can't do that. You just spawn in? Oh too bad, you gotta wait either 8s or spam smash your running stick until it works. You have yourself in a stick situation and need to get out? Too bad, you can't run. You wanna be able to get a super cool play and record it for your friends to see? Try doing it without being able to immediately run. And when you are able to run, you can literally run forever. *insert facepalm here* Like seriously bungie, really? There is absolutely no reason for this to be in, so why keep it? To prevent slide spamming? Put a timer cd on the slide then, not the sprint, like twilight garrison or shadestep.
This isn't just in PvP, it's also in PvE albeit much less often, and it's across every class. Mainly I have it happen to me on my blade dancer and nightstalker, which is one of the reasons I stayed away from these subclasses for so long till recently, and now that I'm playing them again they stand out even more. I shouldn't have to destroy my controller to be able to run for maybe 5s. Please remove this infuriating, and ultimately pointless and stupid, feature from the game.
Edit:1 Nice guys let's keep the work up, hopefully bungie will see thing and actually do something!
Edit 2: To everyone who is saying "Oh it's a mechanic, it's apart of the game" I shouldn't have to fight my controller to be able to run right when I spawn in or right when I respawn.
Edit 3: Wow this is a lot of hype guys, glad to see it. Cozmo and Deej you guys can't ignore us

1 ReplyI have been fighting this fight since the first week I started playing. 18 months ago. I thought my controller was broken. First time I ever saw anything so dumb in a video game. It's ridiculous. I (in real life) can sprint, then walk, then sprint again, without any needed breaks, and I'm certainly not a guardian brought back from the dead with super powers. Get rid of the sprint cooldown. It's stupid. Stop being stupid.

1 Replybecause bungo. there's even a cooldown on getting off your sparrow. you know how you're doing patrols and you go to get off your sparrow and inevitably it ends up over the beacon? you go to get back on your sparrow to move it but only you can't get back off because of the cooldown. bungo. you just got bungo'd

8 RepliesThere is a 5 second cool down. It's part of the game.
-
Yeah I'm gonna bump this just. Lets see how long we can keep this going.
-
1 ReplyIt simulates fatigue. It's a part of the game
-
Because it's in the dead pool aka wish list where requests go to die

Edited by CatMan: 7/21/2016 6:22:20 AMWhy is everyone saying thing now? I made that word up, no one in the history of the universe said it, not even crota dad's, uncles, friends daughters, hamsters, grandmothers, sisters, boyfriends, bullys, dog fart on an ant egg know that saying "a thing now". Stooooop iiiiiit!!
lol bump hate when that happens especially in pve

Edit 3: Wow this is a lot of hype guys, glad to see it. Cozmo and Deej you guys can't ignore us
I hope they do, if this still impacts your gameplay at this point in the game...well next you'll complain about having to touch the ground after you jump.

I'm pretty sure this has already been addressed as something that was implemented on purpose and will never be changed.

Bump this thread
-
I think this is mainly a problem because it breaks the flow of movement in this game. It's makes this game feel slow and sluggish.
-
6 RepliesBumping again. Come on Bungie! Acknowledge this issue! It's -blam!-ing broken and needs to be fixed!!
-
Agreed, if it is a mechanic (I've looked all over the net for something from Bungie saying it's intentional and haven't found anything so for anyone saying it is, can you provide some direction as to where you saw/heard them say that?) then they should get rid of it.
-
It is hysterical that we send messages like this to Bungie knowing they dont fix half of what we ask and when they do something it takes 9 months and they usually break 3 other things.

unlimited shoulder charge anyone?

Model 'T Ford and a tank full of gas, mouth full of puss$ and a hand full of as$
-
Creates Exo guardian expecting a machine Machines don't get tired or fatigue. Still has sprint delay. Dafuq?!
-
14 RepliesCan you imagine PVP without sprint lock? Slide shotgun the whole -blam!-ing time, no one would use anything else! Sprint lock is a good thing!
-
3 RepliesAt the very least I'd like it if the game actually told you about these cool downs. As opposed to... 'Why can't I blink? Why can't I blink? *Splat*'
-
Yes!!! Bump!
-
YES PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BUMP BUMPY BUMP
-
1 ReplyPeople still notice this?
-
I'll get killed because of it every now and then to this day, but I think a lot of players have adjusted for it, at the very least, subconsciously.

There was a post similar to yours a while ago with a petition for removing sprint delay. That person was as angry as you about this 'mechanic'. I hate it too. Just the incredible amount of times I could have escaped a super or useless death if I were just able to sprint away. I always feel like it's happening at the most random moments too. Hope this post finally gets their attention. Sign, bump and agree.

I always found it an annoyance...
