Because abortion and being anti-health care is popular with a very, very, very select sliver of people that tend to vote Republican. Most Americans, even Republican leaning voters, are fine with Planned Parenthood. One bit of a credit I will give Trump is that he was perceptive enough to understand that even the Republican base, let alone the general American voter, are fine with abortions being available and gay people marrying. That's just one (of many) reasons he embarrassed the so called finest (lol) that the Republican Party could muster.

 •
It was a response to what Vgnut said.
But asking someone if they're pro-choice/pro-life has only a tiny relation to Planned Parenthood. You can be pro-life and support Planned Parenthood.

 • You have to be very careful with abortion polling. You'll find these results if you ask people if they're pro life or pro choice. Ask them if they think abortion should be illegal and you see a skewed result. Basically there is a large amount of people that consider themselves pro-life but are against banning abortion.

 • Then they're clearly too stupid to know what pro-life means.
