So you know the shield brothers strike? Well they said that they had explosives wired to the dreadnoughts core. This would destroy it. Why didn't we just let them do it? Destroy the dreadnought and that's that. No innocent lives taken. All of our enemies, the cabal, hive, and the taken would be dead. Oryx, dead. "But oryx is a god it can't kill him" we shot him with bullets. And killed him. So of course this would kill him. Even if it didn't how would he use his minions if he can't put them in the dreadnought? We should have let them blow it up right?
Alright, thanks for the answers. They were never super clear about it. Only one vague line from cayde

Why not send the dred on a one way trip to the cabal home plannet? Is that in our solar system?
-
System, as in solar system. Earth is included in this

4 RepliesEdited by XMalakhX: 7/14/2016 2:46:18 PMIf we push the Traveler in front of the earth side of the ship and let them blow it up, we should be fine, right? Heh... it's a plan. The Traveler would be all, Wha- what are you doing, Guardian? And we'd be all like, You always said you'd protect us, right? Well, here's your chance. And boom! Blow that thing up and watch the Traveler bounce around the cosmos like a giant pinball.

Thats just cold. My grandparents are retired there.

The explosion would destroy the solar system

9 RepliesI'll just leave it here..
CAYDE-6: Funny story for you: Remember that Centurion Oryx took right after you landed on the Dreadnaught? Then the Centurion and that Taken Ogre tried to stop you from killing the King? (chuckles) Didn't work. So the Centurion's Bond-Brothers are pretty angry they lost their commander. They're leading a team to blow the Dreadnaught's core. The core goes, and most of the system goes with it. You're gonna make sure that doesn't happen.
/discussion closed

How about we destroy the Dreadnaught after we kill Oryx(and the strike bosses). Why do we just let that big ship sit there?

Another dumbass that doesn't pay attention to shit lol get gud.
-
2 RepliesThe dreadnaught was the only access to oryx's throne world, no dreadnaught, then oryx would still live

2 RepliesEdited by FearsomeMonster: 7/14/2016 2:40:55 PMYou do know that wormspore only grows on the Dreadnaught, right? And wormspore is a narcotic fifty times as potent as meth. Cayde is running a billion glimmer drug ring out of the Dreadnaught- the part about the explosion destroying half of the solar system is a lie (gullible guardians- those explosives weren't even enough to destroy even 12% of the Dreadnaught- it would have barely incapacitated its warp drive).
-
3 RepliesBecause literally half of the Sol System would go with it. Never forget the Dreadnaught is the size of of Earth.
-
1 ReplyIn the strike Cayde says... "Core goes.... half the system goes with it." We don't want that now do we.
-
1 Reply"If Core goes... Half the system goes with it" Don't you pay attention at the storyline?
-
Did you miss the destroy the rest of the solar system along wolith the dteadnought bit?
-
You should mix some facts and research in with your silly questions
-
I agree
-
5 RepliesHoly shit. Do people not listen to what Cayde says in the beginning? "Core goes... Half the system goes with it." I've heard this same thing from multiple people I play with. Seriously. Pay attention, yeah?
-
If the Dreadnaught was actually blown up, the inner portion of the Sol System would be at risk for a cataclysmic event.
-
Did you miss the part where the explosives would destroy half the solar system as well?
-
That's not how it works. Oryx wouldnt die, a new throne room would be made.
-
1 ReplyWhy do people want more story if they dont even listen to what the characters are saying.
-
You are not paying attention.
-
1 ReplyCayde tells you why when you are playing the strike. It will blow away half of the system. Earth gone. Every planet gone. Game over. Get it now?
-
-
Because you paid attention to the strike you'd know it would destroy the Galaxy
