bungie tweeted the first ever collectible pin with (exclusive in-game emblem) on twitter yesterday
basically you buy this limited edition pin (supplies last blah blah) and you also get a one time, never sold again emblem in-game
>be me
>>get notification on the way to work
>>>be excited about it all day
>>>>get home from work and jump online
>>>>>immediately go to the bungie store to make the purchase of the pin
>>>>get a message they already sold out while you were at work
>>>wonder exactly how many pins they were selling
>>wonder further at this possibly being a cash grab
>crawl in corner, try not to cry, cry hard
just saying, if you really didn't think anyone would buy this, please, please improve quantity next time
if you did this on purpose, for elitism, - - man, i feel so jipped
can't say i'd rather have gotten fired trying to buy a destiny pin on-the-clock at work
or i guess i could have tried to make the purchase while driving
...*sighs*

Do you guys know how often the pins come out?

15 RepliesI know this is a bit old but can we seriously do something about these special emblems? Or just don't release them with a LIMITED time item that's going to be gone in a few hours. As a collector this is very upsetting that I missed these emblems...I'm willing to pay and buy the pins so lets do something about this Bungie.

2 RepliesJust a little tidbit I thought everyone would like to know is that a single seller on eBay flipped 80 of the pins for $50USD each - the last available sold today (July 15th). Without factoring shipping the total cost of the pins was around $1200. Total gross of all 80 pins sold amounts to about $4000. Assuming the Bungie Store shipped it to the seller in a single package, and after factoring in the cut of both eBay and PayPal fees, the seller netted a little over $2000 profit. If the quantity was truly limited to a few hundred, one wonders why the limit for a single order quantity was set so high at 100, and why no one at order processing batted an eye of suspicion on a $1200 order placed for such a quantity of all the same item advertised as being "limited" was that the motive of said order would be to redistribute the item at a nearly 300% markup. If the pin was indeed limited to 100 at most, why let a single order clean out 80% of your stock (which I'm assuming was the remainder after initial single orders were placed after announcement)?

3 RepliesI did really want that emblem (and the pin wasn't too bad either), really pissed it wasn't labelled super limited edition or anything at all in the store to give even a hint it would be nothing but scalper bait. jackwagons

I bought the pin the day the MoT was released
-
Pathetic throwing money at bungie when they can't even fix their game. Ill make ya a pin after we adjust the price .004 percent.
-
I'd love to have that emblem. I'm not a collector, I just like cool emblems. Same with shaders.
Why does it seem so difficult for Bungie to make nice looking shaders or emblems? Seriously, for every nice shader or emblem, there's 30 that look absolutely hideous. Is it really that hard for them to make an emblem? Or a shader? BUNGO PLZ
2 RepliesBought as soon as they came out, they are called limited for a reason.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHACKHACKHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

7 RepliesI immediately bought the Tricorn pin the moment it came out on July 7 because I had a strong feeling it would sell out fast. Then on Saturday night when I saw an eBay listing for "Heart of the Foundation pin" at $250 I immediately went to the bungie store and purchased that pin too. Because I had a strong feeling it would sell out. And thus by this morning, it's sold out too. Now those who didn't buy the pins at $15+shipping cost will probably have to pay 5-10x that amount on ebay or even much more ($15 compared to a listed price of $250 is insane)

It sucks to know that there are emblems you're (me as well) not going to have due to this but eh, it's almost impossible to have every single emblem. In order to reach that goal you'd have to: Have reached several different status levels on B.net. Oh yeah, too late to start shooting for those emblems now as their site doesn't have the same setup any longer. Have played 4 of the last however many Bungie games. Whoops, you're on PlayStation? Oh well. Won Movie of the Week/gotten an honorable mention. Beaten Bungie in the crucible or srl. Good luck getting matched up in the first place. Been a mentor on the forum. Donated to at least 3 different charitable events/causes via Bungie in amounts of $20-50 Paid for the srl record book Been invited to the alpha, also played the beta and week one of the release Point is, it's rough to miss out but it's almost inevitable. I like collecting emblems but am at peace with not having some that I want hella bad (shield of mythics with a blue seven on it? Doh). At least some of them are so ugly I don't care that I'm missing out...a la Nepal, srl, etc. but I did have to buy a soundtrack (I'm cheap) just to get that 7 emblem. Got a decent emblem from the soundtrack itself too

3 RepliesIs the other pin limited too?
-
to combat re-sellers who aim to take control of these special events should have been bungies main goal outside of the 100% donation gig(not ragging on helping people, I work part time at multiple red cross on top of my normal work) it would have been better to make the pins available to those who finished the year 2 triumphs and got a code similar to the tee-shirts then limited one per account to avoid the re-sellers hell that the merchandise for this game has become.......

4 RepliesFor anyone who picked USPS 2-day priority shipping, has bungie shipped out the pins yet to yall?
-
Edited by Dooodley: 7/11/2016 2:15:05 PMYeah I've tried to raise awareness of their stock issue in other forums too. If you're a male of normal size there's literally nothing to buy. Everything in sizes M and L are sold out and all the accessories and other stuff is gone too. I get that the necklaces sold out quickly - because those are handmade and cant be produced at the same rate people are buying them - BUT everything els is made through printing or in some industry. At this point we might aswell consider everything in the store an exclusive - which is a really weird approach for raising money to a foundation. Also, I think they really shot themselves in the foot with the MoT shirt because a lot of people will not bother with the crucible questline. They should have allowed us to miss out on one. That in combination with selling the shirt for an extra $10 could have made the Bungie Foundation a lot of money.

1 ReplyElitism? What the shit is wrong with this next generation?
-
4 RepliesThey only made 100, as it is intended to be exclusive for the most serious collectors after all. You should have expected this, knowing it is a Bungie Day exclusive item.
-
3 RepliesThe real kick in the pants is many of these were probably bought by resellers. I was debating getting that one and the bungie foundation to support the keiki -not because I'm a collection whore;) - but probably saved me $30.

-
2 RepliesWait there's an exclusive emblem if you buy the pin? Dang I could've bought it the other day but decided to buy the dead orbit shirt. I had no idea there was an exclusive emblem.
-
1 ReplyWouldnt you rather earn an exclusive emblem than buy one?
-
1 ReplyCan't wait to see these pins all over ebay.
