I didn't know gothalion was a network engineer. In any case, there are many games with dedicated servers who have a worldwide playerbase. Bungie developers have stated they don't consider their PvP to be competitive in the traditional sense. Hence its fine not to have custom games, dedicated servers, and complete weapon/ability balance. The problem they have is they've created a game in which their players want a competitive scene but are ill equipped to actually carry that out.

They really only need 4. West Coast , Mountain , Central and East Coast. Block out all the people in other countries and you're done for the day
