Beginners Guide to The Stormcaller

Grenades Pulse Grenade: Great for zone control. Can kill a max armored guardian if they stay in the grenade for all four pulses. Recommended for PvE to keep mobs away from you. Storm Grenade: My personal favorite for PvE because of its Massive damage output and AoE. While in PvP it can't kill a guardian, it usually leaves them very weak if thrown accurately. Great grenade to lead engagements. Arcbolt Grenade: My personal favorite for PvP. Despite the nerf it received, this is the most consistent of grenades for the Stormcaller in PvP as it has a very nice range, is great for picking off weak opponents, and making entering engagements easier as you will require less shots to kill your opponent. Glides Focused Control: More directional control, but less travel speed. Good for Jumping Puzzle in Raid Focused Burst: More travel speed, but less directional control. My personal favorite glide to travel around areas more quickly Balanced Glide: A combination of the first two glides, but not as much control or speed. I'd stick with one of the first two if you can't decide on a glide. Stormtrance Landfall: Excellent for PvE and PvP to start off your super. This can be unlocked for free with the Exotic Gauntlets The Impossible Machines Superconductor: HIGHLY recommended for PvE as it will allow you to clear out mobs much easier and will allow you to generate more orbs. Ionic Blink: If you loved blink on Bladedancer and Voidwalker, then this is the perk for you. HIGHLY recommend in PvP to avoid getting sniped out of your super, avoid enemy fire, and to catch up to fleeing opponents. Thunderstrike Chain Lightning: In all honesty, this perk is the weakest of the perks available. I'd pass on this one. Amplitude: Basically turns your melee into a sniper with absolutely ridiculous range. This is the ONLY perk you should be using in PvP. Rising Storm: God I wish this perk was a bit better. Basically your super coolwodn is reduced by... a whopping one second for every kill during Rising Storm (same for grenades). Honestly, although it's not the best perk, it still pretty good for PvE because Stormtrance is great in PvE. But really Bungie? I'm hoping this gets some sort of PvE buff in the future. I'm not going over the Arcane abilities because that is all up to your preference. I personally rock high armor and recovery in anything to avoid being in dangerous situations and so I don't get one shot by tripmines. Passive Perks Column 1 Pulsewave: If you want to focus on the Stormcaller neutral game, then this is the perk for you. Boosts to movement and weapon handling is excellent for PvP purposes, and the best part is that your team benefits from this as well. Overall a great perk. Feedback: Recommended for PvE. If you want to get rid of Thrall, because, who wouldn't, then Feedback will make it a bit easier to kill. Transcendence: Before the patch this was broken, and even after the patch, if your goal is to utilize your super to its fullest, then pick this perk because, well, who wouldn't want to have a super that lasts longer? Passive Perks Column 2 Electrostatic Mind: Great for PvP and PvE, but not when playing rumble or doing story missions. Getting your super back faster is always a bonus as you can use it more frequently to wipe out enemies Arc Web: This is a great perk for the Stormcaller neutral game. Having your grenades chain lightning to nearby enemies allows the Storm grenade to one shot max armor guardians. Great for objective based gameplay Perpetual Charge: I use this perk often in PvE, as I get my abilities back instantly. Plus it allows me to bypass the Trickle modifier in PvE activities. Exotic Recommendations The Impossible Machines: Grant Landfall for free, giving you the ability to pick Superconductor for PvE and Ionic Blink in PvP. Claws of Ahamkara: Give you an extra melee charge. Besides the fact that Warlocks have the best melees in the game, the ability to get two of them, plus the Amplitude perk, makes your neutral game off the charts when combined with a shotgun. The Ram: Let's face it, extra armor is nice for everything. Highly recommend getting this helmet. Voidfang Vestments: The reason I say to get this chest piece is because for PvP purposes, respawning with grenade energy is always helpful. Edit 1: Just a heads up. Using the Apotheosys Veil does not prock Transcendence. It restore grenade and melee energy, but you need to have those before your super is activated. not when your super is activated. ALSO, very important. You need to have BOTH melee charges to prock Transcendence if you choose to wear the Claws of Ahamkara. I know some people may think that because it holds 2 charges that you can use one melee charge and still use Transcendence. You CANNOT use Transcendence without BOTH melee charges. Edit 2: Thank you guys so much for the support. Hunter subclasses are coming soon so expect a new post this coming week
