We've all seen the countless nerf sniping posts but what I've seen is a large group of replies telling us how easy sniping is:
- high aim assist
- little flinch
- no scope sway
- no descope when shot
And on and on
Yet, those same people have little if any sniper kills which, therefore, begs the question:
If sniping is so easy, and the reward is so high, why don't you snipe?
Edit 1:
So far we've got:
- it's boring
- I don't like to sit in spawn and camp
- it's too easy, not rewarding enough
-
-
75% of people on destiny are sniping and this meta it's boring and shitty! Everyone is ADS every angle with his 1kS or Longbow with Shorgaze and HH and infinite Aim-assist and if they do an head-shot they think are good....looool
-
Like 70% of everyone does snipe, lol... so your point is pointless.
-
It's really not that hard to figure out why everyone doesn't snipe...It's the same reason for some people not using Thorn/TLW in Year 1.
-
Let's go with because running at someone with a shotgun because my character takes 7-8 rounds to kill is easier
-
People constantly point to things like scope sway, AA, descope to chamber round, etc when comparing sniping in Destiny and sniping in games like BF4 or Planetside. But those games are completely different to Destiny in flow. Sniping in those games is usually done from extreme range, picking off targets who are either not moving, or moving in a way easy to track. Targets who stay mobile usually get ignored as long as there are easier targets. In Destiny, the maps are simply too small and the player count too low to have sniping mechanics like sway and descope. AA is a necessary evil that keeps snipers useful in these fast paced engagements. Until Destiny's PvP moves to large open worlds, snipers must have these assists.

The game gets boring when everyone just sits back and snipes, shotgun rushing can't effectively counter a sniper anymore since they now shoot sandbags.
-
Yeah lol sniping isnt easy. I just got black spindle finally and while it is a beast, I miss so many -blam!-ing times because the scope shakes so much. When snipers actually hit they are usually a 1 hit kill but, depending on the kind, you have to actually learn how to aim properly.
-
I don't know what people are thinking. "Sniping is so easy now". The game has been out for almost two years, people were going to figure it out eventually. It took me a long time and to actually find snipers that I liked but I learned
-
I cry myself to sleep sometimes because I always read that 2 year olds can do it and it makes me feel this small.... ok, bad joke. Seriously, I can't do it so I don't understand what is so easy about it. I am more comfortable with a primary I like (mida whore) and a shotgun for close encounters. Snipers annoy me sometimes but I take responsibility and acknowledge my decisions like challenging when I shouldn't or running through an obvious sniper lane.
-
Sometimes i want tobshotgun but then i remember im actually good @sniping
-
I used to be a monster sniper, but after taking a 7 month break, it's really hard to do now.
-
If sniping were easy in pvp i'd be able to do it. Closest I can get is the max range of a scout rifle and a prayer for luck.
-
If anybody ever says that sniping takes no skill or is easy, ask them why they aren't a top tier player.
-
Because its really boring, not my play style to sit back and snipe.
-
Cuz I play aggressive?
-
Sniping in destiny isn't that easy. And I snipe 100% of the time since I don't like using a shotgun. Just takes some practice.
-
Edited by Dreams: 7/6/2016 5:28:39 PMIt is easy, I do snipe
-
well I still suck at it
-
They have plenty of flinch, it is just very easy to predict it.
-
Boring
-
Because sniping is boring. It's much more fun to trade shots with primaries or closing the gap with fusion rifles and shotguns
-
Sniping is more stupid in destiny I personally enjoy cod sniping more atleast i get the feel and satisfaction after getting a kill with a sniper which is clearly not the case with destiny.
