This post is inspired by this thread right here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/208112401?sort=0&page=0 Every single major change to the PvP meta that Bungie has made in an attempt to balance their game just unearths new abusible tactics, which doesn't eliminate issues, it just replaces them with new ones. The idea is a simple one: introduce a new playlist that uses a seperate build than core PvP where Destiny players can field test the ideas Bungie wants to implement before they're released. So often after every patch are these forums filled with threads discussing what Bungie could've done differently or what Bungie should've done, when it's already too late to influence the current build, only to have the largest gripes be addressed months later with another patch. The ability for Bungie to play test their plans for the meta and learn what is abusible from the player base before they release a patch wholesale would be the most insightful tool for development Bungie would have in its arsenal. Bungie as a company has always prided itself on its constant communication with their player base, and while a decade ago diligent forum observance would cut it, our modern world has created newer and more immediate means of receiving feedback and critics. A game having bad patches is understandable and to be expected, but Bungie as a developer should be motivated to go to beyond their realm of comfort and normality to provide the most quality experience they can. Thank you for reading.
