Don't nerf snipers, don't buff others....just make adjustments...

Let's see some feedback, I think this is highly viable idea and won't nerf or buff anything. OK, so probably not the best idea for autos or pulses, it'd be fun for a day, but no one would be able to scope, like ever. More feedback please . Credit to paulwizzy- how about a damage threshold, so say when a sniper receives X damage they descope, would be good for high impact scouts, other snipers, some pulses. Or, what If when a sniper is flinched while ads the flinch has to be manually recovered, i.e.- head shot with scout on sniper moves his reticle two or three inches from center in a direction dictated by position of shooter, rounds not landed on head of sniper move reticle considerably less, making headshots still viable to skilled snipers and also rewarding since you actually had to re-aim, your gun didn't just auto center again. More thoughts on this would be GREAT! Good stuff, and little to no salt here. Keep thinking guardians and please don't turn this into something negative. Keep it up guardians this thread is amazing and chock full constructive criticism, I am truly in awe of the amount of great responses and lack of salt found here. This is Destiny. We should value a skilled sniper like he values his counter snipers.

  • Snipers should be a tactical weapon, one which should be used from distance and away from close or medium distance fire. As such Snipers should be if you miss your shot you're dead. Or if you are getting shot at prior to getting your shot off you're dead. They put shotguns in their place but not put Snipers where they should be. This is coming from someone who uses snipers. But I would rather crucible was more about primaries and true gun play.

    • Yea I was hitting people in the head with colovances duty and I was still getting headshotted. Very frustrating considering colovance is one of the hardest hitting scouts in the game

          Seeing as players base on KD, and I have a cross board 1.1kd I thought I might add my voice (This is is average for me across most PvP games I play) I would like to say that I sit on the fence considering I have a pretty decent Errine RR4 with unflinching. But I have to be honest, snipers are supposed to be a 1 shot job in the right hands and given that they're rampant (And Icebreaker is still useable in normal crucible) it might be a good idea to make it much more difficult for snipers to aim under fire. Either: A pain threshold where if the sniper takes X amount of damage in a certain period of time, they're forcibly descoped to encourage retreating in a loss, or, Further increase flinching when zoomed, adding a nerf to unflinching so that it still helps, but not to as great an extent. Either of these will enforce caution in a sniper. The great snipers will continue to do well with snipers and the flavour of the patch snipers will move on.

          • I do think increased flinch on a headshot would help. Snipers are awesome, but if someone pegs you in the face your aim shouldn't be only slightly off.

            • I can't see why people are saying snipers are op it takes a skill to be good with sniper those that complaints are at the age of 10+ and like always bungie will do what ever kids says cuz that how they get money

                    This descope thing is an odd idea. So right now snipers are apparently unbeatable OPness. (By 1.0kd's and under). So (the 1.0kd's and under) want to make the less OP? Or do they want to make them useless? Edit 1: So far there have been some cute replies but no answer to the above questions. I need an answer to you kinderguardians goal to explain myself

                      • This is my two cents, if you want to create a descope feature then give snipers 100% in air accuracy and 100% hip fire accuracy, only way to balance it.

                        • I say you just increase flinch, and take the unflinching perk off snipers. But personally I don't find anything wrong with snipers this is just for shotgun skrubs to stop whining.

                            My only issue is that, as worded, this has no effect in PvE. It would need to have some sort of disorient effect on minions of the darkness. [spoiler]edit: fixed typo[/spoiler]

                              How about it makes any weapon descope. Are you salty about snipers wrecking you? You probably use a Mida or whatever that op Pulse Rifle is, Hacksaw? Moron. Edit: That's what I thought, .8 KD, adding descope to snipers can't even help you.

                                    • Perk sounds like a decent idea. Only problem is it would probably become a go to perk and make all other perks obsolete, especially on scouts and hand cannons.

                                        • I like the idea though it should be added to high caliber rounds. No need for a new perk and it will only take one update to enable.
