5 RepliesDestiny has to be the greatest game ever made, because I can't think of another game that even people that claim they don't like it, still play it and discuss it nearly 2 years after it's initial release. That's quite a feat considering that most modern video games are mostly disposable. People will pick up other games, play them for a couple of weeks, then shelve then and forget about them, but Destiny lives on.

All of this seemed legit until tbagging. We all know that was introduced in Pong. Quarter circle clockwise, quarter circle counter clockwise. Repeat as necessary to engage the rage.

I'd say hunters were the coolest part of the game and most creative. Ice breaker and handful of the other weapons are awesome as well. The earlier raids as well.

As someone else pointed out, it is one of the only games that 2 years after release, hasn't been forgotten, and it still has a large playerbase, including players who say they don't like the game. I would say it is my favorite game, simply because of how much fun I've had playing it these last 2 years. Plus, I've never been so interested in a game that I would play it for 2 years. However, saying it is the [i]greatest[/i] game ever made? I dunno about that. As great as Destiny is, it still has its faults (mostly on Bungies part), just like any other game, except Bungie doesn't know or doesn't care to fix it. Some examples are how this game has become PvP bases instead of PvE based. And how they refuse to treat nerfs and buffs separately between PvP and PvE. And how whenever they change the crucible, all they do is make a new meta, not balance it. And most importantly, they refuse to get rid of SBMM. Destiny is my favorite game ever made. Going so far as too say it is the greatest game ever made? I don't think I would go that far. #TitanMasterRace

1 ReplySorry, but I wouldn't even put Destiny in my top 20 (both Halo 2 and Halo Reach would be in my top 20 though). Anyone who thinks most games are dead and forgotten about within 2 years you are seriously deluded. They are just dead to YOU. Even Super Mario has a fanbase still, so it's not forgotten. First, you have to compare apples to apples. Destiny was marketed as a game that is meant to be played like an MMO in a constantly evolving universe with new things to do (which hasn't really happened at all). Destiny took many of the WORST parts of MMO's and has slowly been figuring out how to make it a more enjoyable experience with a lot of pain and effort. Secondly you are part of the fanbase for this game, so of course you follow it, but surprise, LOTS of other games still have active communities with people following that are WAY older than Destiny. There are communities for the original Doom and Quake for *&#^sakes. Destiny is a decent game, but the quality of content has been all over the map (ranging from awful to good - but not great yet), it's end game keeps running a cycle of small/limited content so it gets repetitive fast, the PVP is in a constant state of flux between being flat-out broken (hunter shadowshot introduced game breaking bug) to average at best (has never been balanced) and in year 2 you have a YEAR LONG CONTENT DROUGHT?!? I'm not saying Destiny isn't successful and I'm not saying it's a bad game, but I will never agree that it's the best game of all time. In the last couple months alone there have been games with WAY better PVE or PVP. Destiny is no different than any other popular mainstream franchise no better, no worse (except the actual community forums are way more toxic here than most others).
