I have a 1.38 trials KD, yet have only gone flawless twice. I have played with people who have a .86 kd and have like 26x flawless runs! And they're on LFG, so I don't think they could find people with a 2 kd to carry them.
If I could just find 2 other people with a similar skill level to me, I could go flawless, and I'm not trying to brag. Has anyone else had this same problem?
Edit: wow, this is already trending. Thanks to all the people who offered to help "carry" me to a 3rd flawless.
Edit: I realize what everyone is saying, and that kd doesn't always matter. However, if I play with a person who has a .8 kd, and they play like they have a .8 and I have to get 10+ kills to win the game, it becomes ridiculous to me that he's been flawless so many times.

I've been flawless 3 times, for the emblems.... When I do play we let the other team win. We get to 3 or 4 wins then let them come back, I like to think they feel really good after : )

People just get better, my overall is only a 1.0 but I played so much crucible in year 1 (badly) that now I'm a lot better (several flawless, scarab, run out of medals) the sheer amount of games it would take to bump up my KD is crazy. I only play trials with friends tho so KD for me personally isn't a big thing, they know I can carry my weight 😊
-
Kd don't necessarily represent skill. I have friends that mostly fart around in competitive matches but on serious days you can't touch them
-
1 ReplyI don't do trials much anymore, but if all three had 1.2 to 1.4, we could usually go flawless. Mine is just under 1.2 and I've been flawless 30+ times (33?). Got to play smart and not die too quick. Lots of guides on youtube to get better. I watch streamers and see what they do in certain hairy situations
-
My regular k.d 1.2, trials kd 0.9, flawless 15x times.. I assist and revive much lol
-
They could be carried, or maybe they like to play for fun but when it's trials time they play seriously.
-
Yep, I think they get a false sense of satisfaction from going to the lighthouse. It might me a superiority complex. Deep down they know they suck, so getting carried to the lighthouse makes them feel better about themselves. Pretty pathetic honestly...

Edited by MonkeyPillows: 7/4/2016 5:15:13 AMa. Their kd ratios have lowered since year one, but they're still very strategical. b. They play well with their fireteam members despite their (possible) lack of individual skill. c. Account recovery. Someone has signed in as them, and has gotten them some or all of the flawless runs. The kd, however, may not increase as quickly due to the account holders long time suckitude. Just some ideas.
I am MonkeyPillows.
Cause kd doesn't and shouldn't matter
-
Ay chill. I know a lot of players who lowered their kd's since SBMM. I play with a friend of mine, he's got something like 86 flawless... He's a beast. He used to care about his kd back in y1. But with sbmm and all sweaties started appearing and this game is becoming boring and shit. He said to me, imma lower this kd to see what happens, and yep, it kinda works. Out of 10 games, 3 of them he gets some dope killstreaks and the other 7 he just tries not to play that good. That's why he has a .9 kd. And the dudes that we play against they're way more clueless than the sweaties. We used to play against. KD means nothing. He could be good with a .7 kd or average with a 2.0 kd. It depends on how do you play, if you can win against extremely good players, or if you're just the camper trying to not die the whole match instead of picking sniper lanes and whatever.

Easy they begged others to carry them or they can be better by lagging, cheating, and kicking players off during the 9-0 to get the win and blame it all on error codes or terrible Internet for example baboon. Had a wonderful Fireteam and we played great and then we ran into cheaters who kicked us during the flawless who said that is what u get for having shitty connection a d having no skill I'm better than u peasant I got the flawless and u did not *quote on quote after asking why u so desperate to win have no pride or skill honestly* #trials cheaters or those who are carried may be the best but deep inside they are scare to lose to people who are better. these people are the reason why most of my friends gave up destiny be proud cheaters! *slow claps*

Fireborn

Why would kd matter in trials when you can get revived? I have actually lost to a bunch of guys who all went negative that game (I was doing a double carry and one of my team members lagged out) just because they were reproducing like rabbits (grabbing every revive they can) Someone gets sniped, people hardscope the orb. Revive & push and there we go back in the game no harm done ♡ most people are afraid to push the orb after they get a kill. Best and easiest tactic in trials, play it safely until enemy makes a mistake, get one dead, push his orb and proceed to 3v2 them. Yet many people fail to do this, instead they just stay far away hardscoping the orb :p

2 RepliesEdit: someone "carry" me to the lighthouse. pls b0ss
-
carries/SBMM working in their favor for having a low kd
-
K/d doesn't necessarily represent win:loss. You could be getting garbage time kills in a 3v1 after both of your teammates are dead, but still lose the round. They could be getting res sniped in a round, but finally get picked up and get the kill to win the round. All depends on the situation
-
I started out at 0.6 in Trials, don't underestimate people.
-
My kd is only 1.1. My trials kd is 0.9 or so. I've been flawless multiple times, never carried, been with friends who have similar kd. Teamwork.

They're probably support players that have talented friends.

4 RepliesIt's called prioritizing the rez. If you have a team that sticks together, is reasonably capable, communicates well, and runs quick rez it won't be that hard to go flawless. The big issue I seam to face is finding teams who know how to communicate. Most players I find will yell out "f-ing snipers" but never tell you where they were shot from or which direction that sniper is looking. if they did then their death would give you an advantage instead of a disadvantage.
-
1 ReplyToO is all about communication and strategy, someones K/D in Pub matches is a rather inaccurate way to judge their skill in ToO.
-
1 ReplyBecause people could suck in the beginning and get alot better create a big hole for your k/d its hard to raise it. Exactly why looking at someone K/D is pointless.
-
I've got a 1.18 overall kd and have been flawless 23 times I think it's all about the team,
-
I have 3 characters with all 1.0 - 1.2 kds. I've been flawless 35 times. I play for my team, push revives, use my life to shut down supers, etc. By that, I mean I'll push a self-res with a shotgun/melee to kill him, knowing I might die from the melee he can get off while I'm killing him. I'll eat the Nova bomb to keep my two teammates alive, I'll pop blade dancer if we think/know the opposing titans have fist of havoc to get them to waste their supers on me. These things hurt my kd, but end up helping us win games. That's why once people play with me once in trials, they always want to, despite the fact my kd is shit. I'm a solid player, but just play strategically rather than KD whoring it.
