All you need to know is that Berserk has started up again and is starting off where the last arc left off in the first anime series.
Really hoping they make it to the boat arc before they take a break/run out of money again to continue.
Manas still going on, the show has a lot of catching up to do!

When's the boat arc? [spoiler]Is that when they're heading towards the city with the Indian demon lord? Because if so that's a long jump from now till then.[/spoiler] Never watched the movies I've only watched the 90s anime and read the Manga, but I need to reread it and catch up to what's been recently released. I was a little off put at first how they've decided to start off the season. The town where guts rescues puck is where one of griffins minions is controlling. And the beginning of where the first movie they made should have started. It'll be interesting to see what they are going to change throughout the series.

Yes that's the arc i mean. As for the movies, all those are are a summarization of the golden age arc, but done well. [spoiler]I'm also bummed they omitted the towns apostle fight where he rescues the kid/puk, but I'm hoping they circle back and show it. They have to find a good way to introduce those, so I'm hoping they do it that way.[/spoiler]

I've just seen episode 1 of the new series, (haven't seen the previous series before) and it's awesome. Should I watch the previous series?

Oh god yes. There's also a trilogy movies that summarise pretty well the 26 episode golden age arc that is the first series if you're short on time. (hell, I'd say watch it all lol) I also recommend reading the manga if you have the free time. Its still not complete, but if you cant wait to see what happens down the long hellish road, i highly recommend it. In fact, as far as anime to manga adaptations go, berserk is one of the top ones that do it well. Right up there with FMA:B and Gintama.
